In 1997 there was ‘Sunking’s Beatles Page’, http://members.aol.com/sunkingno9/beatles/index.html. It had its run but it will never die. It migrated to http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Studio/6866/ somewhere along the way. It just hasn’t been updated since probably…
1998 there was ‘Brett Online’. Who can even remember such an obscure url? It’s a shame. It was marching into the uncharted waters of an online… web… log? Man who would want to make one of them? Brett Online was just a blog ahead of its time.
In 1999 there was ‘Apples’. http://members.aol.com/members/ yadda yadda yadda something or the other.html. By the way, I apologize to all the other pages that I am forgetting. You all served me well… it’s just that your url’s were a bit… well forgettable.
Then in January 2003, 5 years after Brett was shunned for using the web as a medium for his voice, the blogging era had finally caught up. ‘Hello, My Name is Brett’ suddenly appeared at http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/b/j/bjb264/brett/. It was a sign of things to come.
July of 03, Brett could no longer be stopped. He would be now known as TerenTenTen first and foremost and http://students.ist.psu.edu/~bjb264/brett/log/index.php would be his home… until tragedy struck. All good things must come to an end, and on December 2, 2004, TerenTenTen was banished from the home which he loved for so long; tossed aside like he didn’t just pay $60,000 for that domain. Bastards. But he was now a big boy and had to move on.
We move now to the present and into the future. You can still call him TerenTenTen but there is a new home. A new long awaited home you can say. Away from all those forward slashes and numbers and long strings of unnecessary letterage. There is now www.terententen.com.
But let’s try not to make a spectacle of it folks. Seriously. You’re making a fool of yourself.
