Oh yeah, I'm so sorry.

What's with these life insurance commercials on TV all the time? It's like their sole purpose is to make you feel guilty for dying. Me dying is the worst thing that could possibly happen to... well... me, but now I'm supposed to feel bad for doing it? I mean it's bad enough that I'm dead, but now I'm being blamed for it as, well as my family's financial situation? Well hey, at least this one I just saw comes with a free planning guide. I guess that means once I'm dead, I can take all those trips I always wanted.

Ooh, ooh, ooh. I never talked about Christmas.

Christmas came and went just as fast as usual. Except this year I worked until 7AM on Christmas morning. I didn't mind though because I got to be awake longer on Christmas. I went straight from work to IHOP, straight from IHOP to the hospital to see my grandmother and then straight from my grandmother to the Christmas tree. Lets see... what did Brett get? I got: I don't know. It was a good day filled with gifts, finally playing San Andreas, eating and drinking Guinness and Bass. I was up 26 hours straight finally crashing hard at around 11PM. However, in the end, it was like every other Saturday this football season... I woke up at 6AM on Sunday awaiting football. But we already heard about that in my last post.

Weekly fantasy rant?

So I've been busy. Better late than never eh? I'll try to make it good. So this week was a very kind one to me. 133 was enough points to beat everyone. I did a lot of thinking last week due and it really did nothing for me. I was definitely dropping T.O. and the Eagles Defense, and I decided to drop McNabb after I learned he would only be playing 1 drive. I quickly replaced T.O. with Randy Moss as he looked impressive last week, and the Vikings have a lot to play for. Well he didn't do anything aside from the TD he scored in the first minute of the 2nd quarter. Bust #1. Then, I had two combinations I was thinking of to replace my QB and Defense. Choice 1 was the hot Kerry Collins against a weak KC defense and a Washington defense against a weak Cowboys team, or the red hot Billy Volek against an unpredictable Denver defense and the Bills defense against a weak San Fran team. I went with Billy Volek as he's been the hottest player in the league the last few weeks, and the Bills since they've been one of the hottest D's of recent weeks. In the end, I woulda been better off keeping McNabb for the one drive he played. He had more than the 4 total points Volek could spare. Bastard. As for the Bills, they did great. I got 24 points from that combo instead of the 29 I coulda had with the 2nd, but I can't look at it like that, because this week Volek is going against a pretty weak Detroit defense at home, and the Bills are playing for a playoff spot at home against the Steelers who are without the Bus and Worthless-wouldn't be able to do it without the Bus cause I only throw the ball 20 times a game-burger. Anyway, there's only 1 week left. Better make it good.

My Preciousssssss

My preciousssssssss
Here's a glimpse into my favorite part of my room. Isn't it one of the most beautiful sights you've ever seen? I don't know how my life coulda been complete up until this point. And I know that the Hobbit isn't there, but I think I'll go buy a copy of it sometime this week just to make it complete. I just hate buying books that my father already has. I guess he already had the Lord of the Rings and the Silmarillion, but leave me alone. However, I think the fellowship must be complete so I'll go get myself the Hobbit this weekend. Then I'll update the picture to a new, even nicer, more complete & well adjusted picture that I can drool over.

I read the news today, Oh boy.

I got a call at 6:30PM PT awaking me from my sleep. News from the east. My father was gonna come out to visit in February and he picked the dates. And oh yeah, there are whispers that T.O. broke his leg. It wasn't announced yet, but everyone in Philadelphia knew it. Now I did. What the hell? I had gone to sleep about 4 hours before and on ESPN and PhiladelphiaEagles.com, the MRI was inconclusive. I guess we should have known what that meant. How it went from sprain to inconclusive boggles my mind, but this is just another stunning blow that comes every year around this time. There are players like Donovan who used to put their body on the line and with that comes injuries. However, then there are too many players like Hugh Douglas who are always worn by the end of the season and are unable to make the same impact in the playoffs that they were able to make throughout the first 13 weeks. These players just can't keep up with the constant physicality of the game. Most teams have bangs and bruises, but the Eagles seem to have a major problem. There is bad luck, and then there are players constantly going down week after week as we head towards the real season.

The Eagles do not have a one man coaching staff. If a player goes down, Andy Reid has to continue coaching his players. Someone else has to worry about the injuries. So tell me why was T.O. allowed to hobble, even run, off the field when he was obviously injured? Why was Donovan McNabb able to play practically an entire game after breaking his leg? Why are the coaches and medical staff in charge of taking care of our players not held accountable for the poor conditioning of our players? It makes me wonder if Wilma McNabb actually is the person in charge of taking care of the Eagles and the organization actually does believe that Chunky soup is the answer to athletic conditioning. Some may believe Defense wins championships, others may believe Offense wins championships; I don't think you'll find anyone who believes that Chunky soup wins championships. To say the least, I didn't sleep easy the rest of the night.

So what's next? Knowing Andy Reid, he's gonna want to come out and say, "Hey, don't count us out just yet." We got a meaningless game in St. Louis, a tough place to play, and a coach and team with too much pride to just lay down. I don't know how I'm going to interpret the events that are going to take place on Monday. If Andy comes out with all our starters and tries to blow the Rams away... but it doesn't work, what do we think of that? But what might scare me more is if Andy comes out and is resting our starters. Does this mean he's giving up, or does it mean he's just had a change of heart and is tired of injuries? Could Andy do that? My guess is he's gonna go with plan A. Against a pitiful Rams team, I don't know what'll happen. However, they definitely have something to play for as we do not. This might just cause some more unecessary injuries to our already fragile team.

They say T.O. could be ready for the most Superest Bowl of our time... the one that I still think we should get to. I've already had someone talk smack about us having no chance to make it to the Superbowl. I know the entire city of Atlanta thinks they got an early Christmas present, and the rest of the Eagles haters are breathing a sigh of relief thinking they have one more year of laughing at us. I think everyone needs to relax. Remember, without T.O. we still have a team that has made it to the NFC championship 3 times in a row. We still have McNabb playing his best season yet, and this year, barring a total disaster, we should still have Westbrook. That woulda most probably put us in the Superbowl last year. Sure, there might not be T.O., but we did it with that piece of Thrash before, and FredEx and the rest of our offense who gained confidence this year should fill in just as nicely. The defense will most likely have to step up like they did against the Cowboys, but they are stretched mighty thin. They have however been stretched thin the last few years. Making it to the Superbowl might not be easy anymore, but with the state of the NFC, it is still a good possibility. Do I think we will win the Superbowl? I didn't think we'd win even with Owens... we still need all those other injured players back; Buckhalter, Andrews, half our defense... but I most certainly think we will make it over the hump this year. And for all those haters, our team is still growing and learning. Have fun thinking about that one.

Weekly fantasy rant?

Part 1:
So I spent about 2 hours on fantasy football this week; about 15 minutes on Saturday with the Saturday games in mind, and about an hour and 45 minutes on Sunday morning from 8-10AM PT. I made no changes this week. I just wasted my time. Oddly, all season it was easy to make moves; for some reason you could afford anyone you wanted. About last week we reached the point where you can't just pick up any player you wanted. Therefore I think I may just ride this thing on out. For today at least. Let's hope it doesn't come back to bite me in the ass.

Well the archives still might not work right. I might need a stupid splash page to make them work the way I want. That would piss me off if I needed a splash page. But no one reads the archives except for me, so it doesn't really bother me that much. However, I do know what everyone else likes. Photos! And they're now available at that link that was once dead up top. Learn the interface. It's not difficult and it will allow me to go nuts with pictures like I already explained.

Dammit, we gotta get moving on this next album.

I'm kinda speechless here. I mean I really don't know what to say. Is there hope for me yet, or should I stay off Kimmel if I want to make it big? This guy is certainly whiter and more Jewish than I am. On the other hand, before this video, I never heard of him, so he didn't get much exposure on Jimmy Kimmel's show. Not that I should expect anything less from a show that NO ONE watches. Anyway, that's not the point. The point is there is still hope. I'm not as white, not as Jewish (I'll perform on Friday night for $50), and I'm not from the super duper ghetto of upstate NY. Obviously I'm not that speechless, I just don't know what to say.

Help me, help me, I'm being oppressed.

Why is this stuff about the election popping up a month and a half later. And you know it's just gonna get swept under the rug again. I mean some of this is the same stuff that happened in 2000. It's rediculous that this stuff happens and there is nothing more done about it than an article in the news. I mean this is our government, not the store manager position at Target. And then they call it "lessons", but no one is gonna take anything from it. As long as there are lying, cheating republicans around, this stuff is gonna continue to happen. It's a dictatorship. Strange women, lying in ponds is no basis for a system of government. Now we see the violence inherited in the system. Now we see the violence inherited in the system!!!

What's Brett doing?

So I've gotten a few comments from people saying they can't keep track of my "messed up schedule". No one ever knows when Brett is working or when Brett is sleeping or when Brett is awake. No one but me. But I'm here to shed a little light on the mystery of Brett Time (BT). It's really not that hard. Based on a normal 9AM to 5PM work schedule, all you have to do subtract 14 hours PT from your time or 17 hours ET. For example: You get done work at 5PM ET, what time is it for Brett? 5PM ET = 1700 - 1700 = 0000 hours Brett time. It's that simple. So if you get off of work at 5PM ET, don't call me as I will probably be sleeping since it's my Midnight. How about when you wake up in the morning, say 7AM ET. 7AM ET = 0700 - 1700 = 1400 hours BT. Bingo! It's safe to call me because I'm at work since it's 2PM BT. Now calling me at work is not the best idea for the most part since I am kinda well trying to work. What could be a better time? Let's look at it from Brett's perspective. I get off work at 1700PM BT and go to sleep at around 2300PM BT. For this conversion, we do some simple algebra and realize we just add 17 hours ET. 1700 + 1700 = 3400 - 2400 = 10 ET to 2300 + 1700 = 4000 - 2400 = 1600 ET, or 10AM - 4PM Eastern Standard Time. So there we have it. It's not really hard to get a hold of Brett now is it. He is around a lot. And most of that 6 hours he is watching MacGyver, Seven Days or Comedy Central. So try not to think of Brett being in a land far far away. Unless it's the weekend. Then things get truly out of whack and nothing what I just told you stays true to form. But since it's the weekend, feel free to call me whenever and I'll just be rude if I'm sleeping. I won't hate you forever.

Weekly fantasy rant?

It's been a couple weeks due to IST's tough web hosting defense, but the 'Weekly fantasy rant' should be back for the last few weeks of the season. I know you all love it and missed it. All I can say for this week is there were no winners. It was a total discrace to the fantasy football world. I don't know what happened. Every team and every player sucked, except for the ones no one had apparently. I guess there's nothing to complain about. I decided earlier this week that I wasn't going to look at my team until Saturday, and then on Saturday I fell asleep before looking at anything. I woke up this morning and just decided to leave my team as is. I have most of my players for so dirt cheap, that it's hard to change them anyway. And the others... I just felt good about them. Well they did crappy. But the players I was gonna change them for did even crappier, so I guess it was alright. Boy it's gonna be sad looking at the point totals for everyone on Tuesday. I don't think half the league is gonna break 100. And I don't know if anyone even had Ahman Green.

Talk about a lapse in judgment.

So last night I went out to Best Buy to buy my Dodgeball DVD equipped with my Dodgeball sweatband. With that purchase in mind, I only figured to be spending around $15. I spent $83.17. What the hell happened Brett? I DON'T KNOW. I picked up Dodgeball but then proceeded to walk around the store. Oh, I have a coupon good for 10% off up to five purchases $20 or more. Maybe I should buy Elf. I'm gone buy that eventually, may as well get the 10% off. Hey, I'm getting a PS2 soon, might as well spend 50 frickin dollars on GTA: San Andreas since I'll get $5 off. That about sums it up. I now have San Andreas but no Playstation. Sounds good.
