Do you know how hard it is to not pull the trigger on a couple of these Western Digital Caviar Green WD10EARS 1TB hard drives on sale this weekend over at Newegg? $59.99 for 1 TB!!! If I didn’t already have a couple, it would be impossible. I’m just letting everyone out there know you can always use a couple TBs running in a myriad of RAID configurations. Oh, and don’t forget to back up all your stuff. Twice this month it has come in very handy. It’s such a good deal, I had to let you guys know. It’s this weekend only so get to it. Holly Madison is attractive

Holly Madison has been around Planet Hollywood for a while now but I never really got a good look at her until today when I caught her filming some of her new show Holly’s World poolside at PH Towers. The picture above is not from today but it’s a close enough representation of why sometimes I rather enjoy my job. All of the other glimpses I’ve gotten to this point were just in passing while she was all, extremely unfortunately, bundled up, however today it was a bikini and I have to say she is a rather attractive woman. It would almost be hard for me to respect you as a human being if you didn’t agree. Enjoy.

South Carolina Senate Race

I don’t know how this kind of thing doesn’t happen more often. An unknown guy with seemingly little education, and even less business running for political office, has won the South Carolina primary for Senate and will go up against the Republican incumbent whose name he needed to read off of a piece of paper during a separate interview. The guy has little or no idea what’s going on around him, cannot reasonably answer any questions asked of him and is just obviously way out of his league. From what I heard from the guy on Stern today, his league wouldn’t even be running against Pedro or Summer for high school class president. Get the reference Matt? Of course you do; It’s from Napoleon Dynamite… your favorite movie. Regardless It’s pretty embarrassing for the Democratic party in general and has to be really embarrassing saying you’re a Democrat from South Carolina right now. Prepare to be judged.

The guy was recently involuntary discharged from the Army, was recently arrested for showing porn to a college student, lives at home with his parents and is collecting unemployment which is prompting many to say he was set up by the Republicans who “gave” him the large amount of money needed to simply register to run for office. The whole situation is sad. You want to laugh at it but when something this important is a laughing matter, it’s definitely bittersweet.

‘09-’10 Philadelphia Flyers: Cup Half Empty

I was trying to go to sleep last night and all I could think about is I have now seen the Flyers lose in the Stanley Cup finals twice. I have seen the Phillies lose in the World Series twice. I have seen the Eagles lose the Superbowl once and I have seen the Sixers lose the NBA Finals once. Thank heaven the Phillies pulled one off in that span of great futility. 6 losses in 7 tries. I should also add in my lifetime the Phillies have lost a 3rd World Series but the Sixers have won a Championship; I just didn’t see those. Hell, in a span of less than 10 years, all of the Philly Big 4 have lost in their Championships. Man, if the Philadelphia Soul weren’t the reigning Arena Football League champions, I don’t know what I would do.

Back to the Flyers though, all in all, they did way more than I ever expected. For a team that had to win a shootout in the last game of the season to make it to the playoffs, they did a hell of a job. Things were bleak at the end of the season so at that point, all I really ever wanted was for them to knock the Devils off. They did that. That was the Cup right there. But then they did the improbable Boston comeback that no one will forget… down 3 games, claw back to tie the series up, go down 3 goals, win that game and the series… yeah, it was amazing. Montreal was a good series but the Flyers were clearly the better team. Then came the Blackhawks. Many didn’t give the Flyers a chance. I didn’t even think they could do it. They played them tough but they were clearly outmatched. The whole series the puck never felt like it was out of the Flyers zone and all the bounces seemed to go the Hawks way. That’s the way it goes. I just hope this team can play like they did in the playoffs again next year and make another run at the Cup. There is some great talent and upside on this team. Life seems to be better when the Flyers are true contenders.

Now we can get back to baseball where the Phillies have been atrocious as of late. They had a nice vacation while everyone’s eyes were on the Flyers for the last month but now it’s time they man up and play some baseball like the World Effing Champions…

And then I watch Ryan Howard strike out to end the game and the Phillies are shut out again. I don’t think Roy Halladay signed up for this run support. That’s the way it goes??? Remind me why I watch sports again?

No, don’t get your hopes up… I’ve heard nothing about this in the works. But it would be incredible! Why would you tease me with a headline like that? I hate you. GFY! Hey now. Calm down. I know it would be a great idea. That’s why I’m bringing it up again. I mentioned it a little while back and still nothing! I think we should start bringing this up more and more. I can’t figure out why there is no major studio Zelda movie. We’ve gotten multiple Resident Evils and Doom and whatever other garbage they’ve come up with but no movie for probably the greatest games ever made. I just don’t understand. There’d be great characters and great action. Link could be a total badass action hero tearing up tons of bad guys with load of different weapons en route to saving his true love. How is that not Hollywood? Come on Nintendo. Get your head in the game! I don’t think Orlando Bloom is doing anything. BTW, if they don’t get Orlando Bloom to do this, they’ve already failed… but then again maybe he shouldn’t be playing another insanely awesome elf. Good point. I know, thanks. So come on Hollywood. Throw a lot of money at Nintendo and get this going ASAP. At this rate, we won’t have a movie until 2014 but if it’s done right, it’ll be worth the wait. Don’t screw this up.

New job and such 2

I start my new job tomorrow. I’ll still be working at PH Monday-Friday; there’s just someone else writing my check. Gotta be up a bit earlier but I guess I’ll get used to it. A lot of people wake up at 4:30AM. Ugh. There is another plus though… I got rid of my old work phone. No more checking emails all the time and no more risk of getting woken up at 2 in the morning. Let’s see how this goes. Lots of changes. I’ve been in the PH building for almost 6 years now. Quite a long time. Beer festival this Saturday though. Gotta be pumped up for that. BEER FESTIVAL!!! It’s almost 7:30PM. I’m gonna try to go to bed. Wish me luck.

New job and such

Oh yeah, I haven’t posted much lately because life has been pretty stressful over the last couple of months. Planet Hollywood was bought out by Harrahs and all hell has broken loose. We’ve made major changes around the property, there are way more new faces than old and it’s been mighty depressing. With that said, I’m officially starting a new job in 2 weeks. I have unofficially started doing said job over the last few weeks. It’s not the most ideal situation but it is what it is. I’m still at PH for now but I don’t know many details yet. Life has been pretty much on hold since January and hopefully I can get back to a bit of normalcy in just 2 weeks time. Get busy living or get busy dying. Life’s full of unexpected changes. Just gotta try to roll with them. Rollin with the homies. Stop that you.

2010 NFL Draft Times Suck

Oh yeah, now that the 2010 NFL Draft is over, I just wanted to thank Roger Goodell again for completely ruining it. I was able to watch Round 1 because I flew out of work and raced to Buffalo Wild Wings but I never had a chance with Rounds 2 and 3 since they were so kindly put on at 3PM on the west coast. Yes Goodell, people who have jobs typically can’t watch a broadcast that starts at 3PM. Then you take Rounds 4 through 7 and put them on at 7AM on a Saturday. You are just a freakin genius. Way to completely hate on people who have jobs and people on the west coast in general. They’re probably not a huge chunk of your fan base anyway. Don’t worry… You’re from New York so you don’t care about people on the west coast. Go to hell.
