I saw 50 First Dates tonight at the most Premier theater in State College. I’m glad they built this theater. It’s not really the AMC Neshaminy 24, but I’d have to say the State College area just went a huge huge step in the right direction. Welcome to the future hicks. Anyway, I have to say that it could have been one of the most saddest movies I’ve ever seen. I really liked it and all. I thought it was a really good movie. But Sandler has to focus more on making funny, non stupid movies like Big Daddy, not funny, non stupid movies that are depressing. This was too much in the “Shit man, I’m supposed to be laughing and thanks for trying to make a good movie, but people are actually one step away from crying in the theater” path. But all in all, it was definitely a good movie. Cause I like Sandler… and I like that little hot number Barrymore. She was as gorgeous as she’s ever been. This movie was a good take on the Groundhog Day theme which I also love, and since it’s been 11 years since that movie came out, I guess they thought we needed a new spin on it. The cast was full of all the same regulars and they weren’t necessarily as strong in this movie, but they had their moments. And it was funny with him hinting on his previous movies. Man… that really takes you back. All in all, I guess you’ve already gotten this from this review, but I’ll tell you again, I liked this movie. It was another good Happy Madison flick, and I’ll be waiting for the next one with open arms. Mr. Sandler, you can do no wrong in my eyes.
