Football… NFC Outlook

No Idea / Thursday, September 8th, 2005

Football season begins today, and with football season comes Eagles talk. No, not exactly. I don’t like talking about the Eagles during the season because I’m sick in the head and I don’t want to jinx anything. So I had better get it all out now. First… WTF is up with practically everyone on ESPN saying the Eagles aren’t gonna take the NFC? I can barely fathom how people are saying we won’t win the Super Bowl this year, but the NFC? Come on! What do they think happened to our team in the off season that will keep us from going back to the Super Bowl this year? The Falcons are a team everyone is picking to go to the Super Bowl. Let me tell you, a team with Mike Vick and his passing skills, throwing to the receivers the Falcons do not have, is not going to any Super Bowl. Besides, they have to get past the team I think is gonna play the Eagles in the NFC Championship.

And WTF is up with Joe Theismann picking the Redskins to make it to the SB? How many hits to the head has he taken in his lifetime? If his Redskins/Steelers SB comes to fruition, I may just have to jump into Taylor’s shoes and kill myself. I mean ESPN analysts, PEOPLE ACTUALLY GETTING PAID TO ANALYZE SPORTS, are picking teams other than the Eagles to take the NFC East. The EAST!!! You will have to win at least 13 games to take the East because the Eagles just aren’t going to lose. If the Eagles only win 12, I will cry. Then I’ll probably wake up from my nightmare because it just isn’t going to happen. They have one of the easiest schedules in the league this year and last year they pretty much won 15. I just can’t see anyone in the East other than the Eagles winning 13 games this year. Patrick Ramsey can’t do it and Eli Manning can’t do it. The Cowboys taking the wild card wouldn’t shock me, but they aren’t taking the East. That’s just that.

Also, this general consensus for the Vikings to take the North. I can’t see how they are better off without Moss. The Vikings lost their best player and everyone thinks they’ll be better. Let’s see how Burleson does when Moss isn’t getting doubled on the other side. Culpepper may have more fumbles this year than any other year and that’s almost unfathomable. The Eagles, this year, however are a better team than they were last year. Why doesn’t anyone see this? The only team that has a shot is the Panthers, and they too lost a major part of their offense in Muhsin Muhammad. Let’s see if Delhomme can do it without what was his best receiver last year. And Merril Hoge is still a big douche. Just have to throw that in there. That’s my 2 cents and I can’t wait to hear what everyone else has to say.
