Sure, the banner doesn’t look as nice as it did on Monday, September 29, 2003, but the victory is just as sweet. Team ‘Can’t Buy Me A Win’ pulled through far from narowly to win the 2005 fantasy baseball crown. I’d like to thank everyone who stuck with me on my journey to winning this 2nd fantasy baseball championship, and I’d like to thank the competition for trailing me the entire 2nd half. Sure it wasn’t easy, and I didn’t think it was in the bag until the end ::wink::, but something tells me the 18 point victory margin should have tipped me off to something. I just wish I never lost that 20 point lead I had a couple months ago. That woulda been sweet. But it was almost impossible with practically all of my players going on the DL at one point or another (don’t forget Team ‘Team DL Stint’), some for great lengths, and then my pitchers deciding they didn’t want to win any games for weeks at a time. But thanks to some good planning, good decision making, no thanks to Chris for not trading me Vlad for Mora or Aramis Ramirez, but thanks to Tim for dropping Aramis Ramirez and then Jimmy Rollins when I needed him the most. Here’s to another year of fantasy baseball behind us… and to plenty more years of fantasy baseball ahead.
