Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End

Last Saturday I saw Pirates. It was the same pirates as the last two, which made it good, but it just made it pretty much the same movie I saw 2 times before. I enjoyed it and it certainly kept me entertained but I find myself thinking about the whole Pirate trilogy rewatchability factor. I mean The Curse of the Black Pearl came out 4 years ago and I think I’ve only seen it 1 time outside of the theater. I never rewatched Dead Man’s Chest. I think that’s a problem with making too many sequels. I mean with the Lord of the Rings I set aside an entire day each year to watch them all because they’re glorious. However I would never set a day aside to watch all 3 Pirates films and it’s kind of like you can’t watch just one. I don’t know if I could even set aside a weekend for all 3 Pirates films. That’s the same thing that happened to the Matrix. And I rewatched the Matrix tons of times; However since the sequels came out, that went out the window. Maybe it’s time we stop it with the sequels and just come up with something new. I mean that’s what made the Matrix and the original Pirates so spectacular; they were fun and original.

Anyway, At World’s End was a decent way to not really end the sequels. Why couldn’t they just wrap up the whole thing. I mean after the credits, I guess they wrapped up Will and Elizabeth’s story however they left it completely open for Jack. I guess they’re just saying that Jack’s always gonna be doing his thing but I didn’t like that at all. The rest of the movie though I was fine with. Pretty much all I can say about this movie is that it was nothing new but still alright.
