2008 Summer Olympics

Alright, I’ve been practically watching nothing but the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing since the Friday night opening ceremony. I love the Olympics. Can’t get enough of them. I’ve always been fascinated by the spectacle that is the Olympic games, be it Summer or Winter. However I just made a Twitter regarding the diving events and the way it’s been turning out for the American divers that goes something like this,

“I swear, the Olympic diving judges are Communist loving America haters. I wouldn’t let them into the country ever. That’s just my opinion.”

It was right after I made that statement when I realized that it doesn’t just seem to hold true to only diving. We’re also getting hosed in the gymnastic competitions that are held up to the judges scores. Completely hosed. Maybe I don’t know enough about anything regarding to diving or gymnastics, but I do know that the scores just don’t seem to be fair. When 2 teams both do a crappy dive, the scores should be about the same and when 2 teams do something good, the scores should be about the same. It just doesn’t seem to work like that this year.

It could be because I’m a whiny American, but if you agree with that, you’re probably a Communist and should either leave America or not be allowed in. The only events the Americans are winning at the moment are the timed events and the other events where we physically beat down opponents. And in those events, we’re not just winning, we’re physically beating down opponents. It’s great. But something just doesn’t seem right here with the way judges are scoring us. I don’t like them. They should care about my opinion, take it into consideration and just do it… whatever it may be. And it in this case, it, is give us justified higher scores.
