I didn’t want to make another post after that last one. I wanted that image to greet me every day. 10 days later and I have a new image to replace it. The Philadelphia Phillies are the 2008 National League Champions. For the 3rd time in my life, the 2nd time that I’ve seen, the Phillies have won the pennant. I don’t get this feeling very often so I gotta drink it up.

The Phils beat the Dodgers 4 games to 1 and Cole Hamels was the NLCS MVP. However it was a total team effort and every inning had a new hero. There were so many great moments in this series. Game 1, Chase and Burrell’s dingers in the 6th, Game 2, Brett Myers going 3-3 with 2 runs and 3 RBIs, Game 3, the 4 run 8th with Shane’s 2 run dinger making it even and the now infamous Matt Stairs 2 run go ahead shot and now Game 5, JRoll’s leadoff shot, another great Cole performance and Furcal’s 3 error 5th.

Now we wait until Wednesday when we go to either Tampa Bay or Boston. Either way, Cole should be starting so it’s definitely exciting. For a team that everyone was writing off in late August and September and no one thought would beat the Dodgers, man, this is great. Man, this is great.
