Oh man, it only took 1 week for me to curse this year’s suicide pool and swear it off forever. Last year we were out in like 3 weeks because Miami decided it wanted to bring back the wildcat when the Patriots were least expecting it. That was a terrible punch in the gut. However, this year Rob and I had a great plan and 2 weeks ago I was already waiting for this year’s winnings to come my way. No way we could lose. I don’t care where they’re playing… the yearly “Superbowl Bound” San Diego Super Chargers cannot lose to the Oakland Raiders. The game was in Oakland but it could be on the moon and the Chargers could be down a man and they should still beat on the JaMarcus Russell led Raiders. Well we all saw that was not the case last night. The Raiders looked like they were playing for something and the Chargers looked like crap. The offense was offensive and the defense looked embarrassing. Somehow, probably just because they were supposed to, the Chargers won with 18 seconds left on the clock, and we get to play another day. But I’ll tell you, I was not a happy man after Russell completed a 4th and 15 bomb for a TD to go ahead with about 2 minutes to go. Apparently the Chargers are just in a league of their own. We have the Superbowl winners like the Pats and the Steelers, the Superbowl losers like the Bills, the NFC/AFC Championship losers like the Eagles and the “Superbowl Bound but don’t come close” teams like the Chargers. I’ll tell you what. Unless they’re playing the Cowboys, Giants or Redskins or the Eagles playoff hopes are on the line, I will never root for that sorry excuse of a football team again. You can bet on that.
