Weekly Fantasy Rant ‘10 Week 6

Fantasy / Tuesday, October 19th, 2010

Hours before kickoff I was tweeting to the “#fantasyfootball gods” asking for a sign that I had some sort of chance of winning this thing. Maybe it was a little premature of me wishing for a hail mary in week 6 but I did it. Well I still may not have a chance at winning this thing but someone sure gave me a sign that all is not lost. Well I guess by definition that is a chance. Almost everyone put up good numbers and the Tortoises won the week, jumping up into 2nd place, with 166.27 points. I’m still far out of 1st but a few more weeks remotely close to this and who knows. The only thing that didn’t work this week was me biting myself in the rear. Sometimes moves work out and sometimes they don’t. This week’s move failed. Greg Jennings has been pretty mediocre so far this year and despite me having a strong feeling he was going to have a bounce back week after speaking out about not getting the ball enough, I still benched him because I picked up this year’s stud free agent receiver Brandon Lloyd and had to see what he could do. Well that move benched over 10 points. But hey, it was better than if I had benched Maclin’s 7/159/2, 24 point day. I had a hunch about him too. A bigger, more successful one. Oh, and Brent Celek… quit dropping passes.
