When your #1 pick, #3 pick and your Defense combine for just under 35 points on Thanksgiving day, you don’t have much to be thankful for. Way to ruin my Thanksgiving fantasy football. Why don’t you just throw 3 more games on Thanksgiving next year so I can just kill myself when my whole team fails on Thanksgiving. Thanks a lot NFL. Drew Brees was playing the Cowboys and it took him until the very last minute to put up 19.98 points. That’s average at best. That’s 6th round QB numbers. That’s all I’ve been getting all year from this guy. Man I miss Drew Brees from last year getting me 30 a week. This was the horrible Cowboys he was playing and couldn’t even break 20 points. Cedric Benson did almost exactly as I expected. I was thinking a guaranteed 15/30 for 6 points and he ended up going 18/41 for 7.95 points. Wow, almost 8 whole points! It was against the Jets so yeah, it’s all I was expecting. I played it safe instead of playing Maclin at my flex spot. In the 3 weeks since the bye, Maclin has gone for 4, 13 and 10. I figured at best I was benching 5 points but Benson did have chance of getting a TD and breaking a 10 spot. Well Maclin played well but didn’t end up going off. He only came up with 10 points so it certainly wasn’t the end of the world. I’ll survive.
As for the rest of the week, Sunday came and sunny skies returned. Mendenhall returned from garbage to put up 26 points. Brandon Lloyd squeezed out 2 TDs to get me 18 points and make up for my crappy W/R number from Benson. No one was really spectacular but they provided a balanced attack. That’s the MO of this year’s team apparently. Make me sweat it out until I can see the final number at the end of the week. But I still really hate these Thursday games. Oh yeah, that’s definitely a precursor to Week 13’s post.
