Today I woke up nice and early to watch the Eagles game. It started at 1:15 here, so I wanted to leave by 12:15 to get to where I had to get to on time. Shortly before leaving, my mother told me about this bar somewhere in Vegas that plays the Eagles games and is geared towards Eagles fans. I figured it’d be cool to check out since they have $5 Rolling Rock pitcher specials, and give free rounds of beer each half when the Eagles score a TD. So we drove down there and it turned out to be in the heart of Mexico. Then I was looking at the clientele that was entering the bar and it looked like they were mostly just looking for a nice afternoon drinking session as opposed to watching the Eagles game. Well we quickly turned around and headed toward our original plan which was ESPN Zone in New York, New York. Maybe one day I’ll check out the Madison Ave. Bar located in Little Mexico. So then we drove to ESPN Zone, but didn’t get there until just before kickoff. Therefore it was packed already because they were showing all 3 of the 2nd set of games, Falcons vs. 49ers, Cowboys vs. Vikings and Eagles vs. Giants. In order to actually go into the restaurant, you have to spend $10 per person per hour which would have added up to $60 to watch the Eagles game. I was not into that. So we went upstairs to the ESPN Zone bar and stood and waited for a table through most of the first quarter. We eventually got a seat, far from the TVs, but still close enough to make out what was going on. And the big ass crowd of Eagles fans were loud enough to let me know when something big happened. It was an enjoyable time. And the food was good. After we finished eating, we didn’t want to hog a table so we went to the arcade part of ESPN Zone where they had all the games still playing and stood there to watch the rest of the games. They only had sound on for the Cowboys game though, so you had to duck into the bathroom to catch sound of the Eagles game… and watch of course. Boy is ESPN Zone sweet. I never wanted to stop pissing.
