I’m lazy I know. I put off posting on here all the time. I constantly convince myself that whatever I’m going to post about just isn’t worth it. You can tell by all the awesome gems that I’m constantly providing you with a few times a month. However as much as I tried to talk myself out of this one, I just couldn’t. Last night Michael Vick signed with the Eagles. Within minutes the thing blew up all over the Internet, even making its way to the front page of CNN. You would have thought Michael Jackson died or something.

More so than big news, this is just weird news. Almost unbelievable news. At first I thought it was just some BS. I saw a tweet go by and thought there’s no way that the Eagles would go out and get another quarterback. Then I thought to myself that no one could make that kind of news up. Then another tweet came by. A few minutes later there was no denying it.

I’m up in the air with this one. I keep trying to convince myself that it’s another low risk/high reward signing like the Pedro Martinez signing with the Phillies. However this one can be way different. We’ve seen what happens to the Eagles when the media just can’t leave well enough alone. Last time it happened our team was almost destroyed. This time the expectations are way less. As a starting quarterback I am not a fan of Michael Vick. The mobile quarterback was short lived and Vick couldn’t cut it. However now I think we have a really good backup quarterback that can also become a great weapon on the field in other ways. I just hope that Andy can make it work and I really hope that Donovan can find something to be happy about with this because “In Donovan We Trust”.

Only time will tell. So far it’s all the news can talk about. I’m already longing for new Brett Favre news. There are only a few more weeks til the season starts and thank heavens because with all the preseason injuries and now this media storm, the season couldn’t start soon enough.
