Today I went on a search for Rolling Rock. First I stopped for lunch. I got a BBQ Pork sandwich and a Corona. It was a good lunch. I’m starting to enjoy Corona even though it’s the only beer I’ve ever given away because it just wasn’t worth drinking. After lunch, I asked the waiter if he knew where to get Rolling Rock. I’ve been to a couple grocery stores, but have never seen Rock. He went off on a tangent and said he drinks Heineken and he can’t find kegs of Heineken either. Then he said they were trying to get Rock at their bar because they are a Steelers bar and everyone who goes there always wants Rock. So I left with no help. After lunch, I went to the mall. I didn’t find anything there. No sneakers, no undershirts, no beer.
After that I went to Lee’s Discount Liquor. I walked in thinking I would never find Rolling Rock, but sure enough, I found it. In the non refrigerated aisle and in the fridges. Before removing my beer from the fridge, I walked around the store and looked at other stuff just like the good old days. Then I went back to get the beer and noticed it was normally over $9 for a 1/2 case or like $6.50 if you pay in cash and belong to their Super Saver Card. I do not carry cash anymore, but luckily I had a $5 on me. Kristin found a dollar and then $1.50 in quarters. We were in luck. I went to the line, filled out a form and can now say I am in an alcohol buying club complete with a regular size card and 2 keychain cards. So I gave the guy $7.50 and he took a penny from the penny jar because it came to $7.51. Then he gave me back $.50. I asked him how much I gave him and he said $7.50. I was confused. Kristin only had $1.50 in change so I couldn’t have given him too much. But I moved on… I had my beer and that is all that mattered.
After that, the day was complete but I kept on going. I got my haircut, and then went to Wal-Mart. I wanted to get a steering wheel cover and undershirts. All their covers were for steering wheels 14.5-15.5 inches. I figured that must be the standard size so I found a plain black cover for $4.00 and went to get some undies. After I left the store, I tried to put my cover on. It was then I realized that size does matter. The cover was too big. Now I don’t know what to do because all of their covers were the same size. Looks like I gotta go searching. That sucks.
After that, it was almost 6, so it was time for dinner. We were gonna go to Sweet Tomato because it’s been a while since we were there. I was just finishing up my first bowl of soup when I realized, “Shit. Neither of us have any cash to tip the girl because we spent it all on beer.” We were stuck. The rest of dinner we were trying to figure out what to do. I asked the guy at the register if we could debit and take out money and he pretty much said they don’t do cash back. We were stuck. I was gonna have to go to over to Starbucks or something and get money back. Kristin had looked through her pocket book twice and found nothing. Then she decided to triple check. It was then she found a dollar. Only $1 to go. She then looked through her change. Aha! The $.50 the guy gave us back. Sweet. Together with 3 nickels, 2 dimes and 5 pennies, we had $2.00. Pretty ghetto, but we left it on the table and ran out of the restaurant. Then I came home and drank a Rock and did my tourney bracket 1st draft which took a minute. I’ll be looking over this thing 100 times this week.
