So I’ve been trying to set up my website the last week so that I’d be hosting it on my server and then I’d eventually get www.terententen.com and all would be well. It would save me money from paying someone to host the page for me, and would only cost me like $9 a year for the domain name registration. That would be ideal and is what I had been planning to do over the last few months. Well now I’m getting screwed by Cox… with no lube. They apparently block all of you from accessing port 80 (you should all be really angry), which is necessary for me to host my site. Therefore I’m left with either having the port redirected for free and having some crappy domain name (i.e. terententen.no-ip.com), or having the port redirected and getting terententen.com for about $32 a year. Now that’s not a lot of money by any means, but it’s the principle of the matter. Talk about feeling violated.
