Home runs are cool to watch. That’s why Babe Ruth is the greatest player ever. And I’ll stick with that. He was bigger than the game just like Joe Morgan just said.

  • Led the league in homers 12 times.
  • First player to hit 30, 40, 50, and 60 home runs in a season.
  • Hit 40+ far more than any other player and this was a time when homers didn’t happen every day.
  • Only McGwire hit more home runs per 100 at bats than Ruth, but “Did McGwire pitch three consecutive World Series shutouts?”
  • Ruth did.. he was one of the game’s best pitchers, posting 29 consecutive scoreless innings in World Series play, a record that stood for 42 years!
  • He led the AL with a 1.75 ERA and nine shutouts in 1916, going 23-12 for the World Champion Red Sox, and won a career-high 24 in 1917.
  • .342 career batting average. .342!!!
  • Best player eeeeevvvvveeeerrrrr. Hell, just go here.

I’m currently watching: LA Dodgers vs. San Diego Padres
