Tonight I took Kristin to see Train (link for those of you who would like to try to find their impossible website) for her birthday that’s coming up. I thought it would be nice since there was no way I would see them normally, and I knew how much she wanted to see them. They played a pretty good set, albeit short, but they were tight. They threw some surprise covers in there that were pretty good. I knew from looking at their page that they played Zeppelin covers and they threw their normal Ramble On in there with a Whole Lotta Love intro. I was surprised how well they pulled it off. They started the set with Supertramp – Give A Little Bit which was a bit of a shocker because first off I didn’t think many people covered Supertramp songs, and second off I didn’t see it on their page previously. And they finished the show with Dream On which was really cool too. In between all that, they played all the hits that I knew, and even some other stuff just for Kristin. By the end of their set, before the encore, I was getting pretty figgity and ready for it to end, but at the same time, I kinda wanted them to keep going to see what they’d do next. The lead singer was a pretty charismatic guy with a pretty decent voice and that kept everyone pretty entertained. If I could do it again, I’d try to talk everyone into going with standing room only, but I had a good time tonight anyway.
