How does a 1 in 4 chance of a 30m asteroid hitting Earth end up being a 500m asteroid that misses Earth by 12 million km? What are these scientists doing? Are they looking into space with a pair of Bushnell binoculars? I think I had a telescope when I was 10 that could have made a better prediction than that. What are all those super high powered telescopes doing? I think the astronomers are just using them to peek into the windows of girls across town.
