Hulk the MovieI'll come right out and say that I wasn't completely happy with the way the Hulk turned out. Man I was looking forward to this movie for a long time. I don't remember when I saw the first teaser, but I knew I knew I wanted to see it. Then, after I saw the Hulk jumping around on the screen the way he's supposed to, and running as fast as he's really supposed to, I really got excited. I mean I really think he looked incredible. I've heard a lot of people were complaining about the way the Hulk looked, but honestly, what do you want him to look like. I don't know what they were complaining about... he looked like the Hulk. Hulk screen shotI was amazed. Humans don't really look too good in CG, i.e. Neo in Reloaded, however the Hulk isn't exactly all human, and I think they pulled it off perfectly. The Hulk is a huge green beast, and that's what he looked like. My quarrel with the movie was the story I think. I don't know what about the story it was, but It didn't seem to do it for me. Especially the ending with his father. It ended way too abruptly, and left me waiting for more. I did on the other hand enjoy Ang Lee's directing. He did a good job at making it seem like a comic. Especially the way he had multiple frames on the screen at the same time. It was like you were reading it straight from the book itself. Maybe the movie will take time to grow on me. I recall feeling the same way after I saw X-Men the first time, however after a while, it wasn't so bad.

Wayne's WorldI watched Wayne's World tonight. Zang! I haven't watched it since probably 5th or 6th grade, but still remembered so many lines. How about

Or imagine being wisked away to Delaware.
"Hi, I'm in Delaware"

I also wrote a song. I don't know if it's good or not, but hey, maybe I'll start writing again. It's been a while.

So I finished my 4th day of work today, and I'm having an alright time. Knowing I'm not getting a check tomorrow is semi upsetting, but I'll live I guess. So far at work, I've pretty much been "Nick Burns, Your Company's Computer Guy". Well the two guys I've been working with, Rick and Tom, are. I just feel like an idiot watching them. They actually run and help people when things go down. I guess that's what the internship is for. "Nick Burns, Your Company's Computer Guy". Nothing in the casinos has really been going down though, and they say it's extremely slow compared to how it normally is. We've only had a couple calls a day compared to the non stop action they supposedly normally have. Today and also tomorrow, I'm not in Santa Fe. I'm spending the days covering Fiesta Rancho with Rick. Since there were only 2 calls there today, we spent the day at Texas, monitoring Fiesta's problems from there, and learning some other stuff. It was a decent day. I even got to go in at 10 as opposed to 9, and still got out at 5. That's how dead it was.

Radiohead - Hail To The Thief I bought Radiohead's new album "Hail to the Thief" today. I downloaded the album a few months ago, but I bought the special edition that came with a large poster of the cover, and a nice booklet with the lyrics in it. And as always, the songs are cleaner off the CD, and shaken up a little bit. This is the first CD of new music I have purchased since... oh wait, The Eminem Show last Memorial Day. However, before that, it was probably Live's Secret Samadhi which turned me off of new music completely. And that was in 1997, so that was a long long time ago.

Hello My Name is BrettI started work today at Santa Fe Station, and I got this nifty pin. It's made of plastic, and it has my name on it with the Santa Fe Station logo. It even has a magnetic back so that I don't have to put holes in my shirts. Oh, and you can't have one.

Tonight I went to the Aladdin to see the Classical Mystery Tour. It's pretty much a Beatles cover band backed by a symphony orchestra. The only thing is, they're probably the best Beatles cover band because they were members from the Broadway show "Beatlemania", and they get tons of good reviews. I thought they were really good. I enjoyed the show thoroughly. Most of the time, they sounded just like the Beatles... musically and even in the voice, even though they are all from the U.S. I think. Sometimes they didn't though, but that was all right because they aren't really the Beatles. It was a good show though, and as close as I'll ever come to seeing the Beatles, so I think it was a decent way to spend a Saturday night.

Jim Morrison once said, "Now, if you're sad and your feelin' blue, Go out and buy a brand new pair of shoes", but I think that if you're sad and feeling blue, you should look around and be thankful that your house isn't on fire. Unless of course your house is on fire. Then I guess you can just try the shoe thing.

On a slightly stranger note, I walked on the boardwalk last night with the big tuna himself. I have no idea why, and I don't know what we talked about... I just kind of followed him. I also swam in one of those frog hammer games. It wasn't a normal frog hammer game, it was a really big deep one, with all sorts of fish swimming in there with me. They were fish I had never seen before. Really colorful, some with a head where their tail should be and a head where their head should be, some really fat, and I just really don't think they exist as any species. I also designed what could be the coolest house ever. All in a night's work.

International Neo Poster International Morpheus Poster Man, you'd be the coolest person I know if you had either of these posters and I didn't. I think I'm going to have to buy one, even though the only place you can get them is online. I don't really like to buy things online, but in the case of these posters, my hardest decision is not whether to purchase them online... it's which one I should get. Heck, maybe I should just get both of them. At only $14 apiece, it should be considered a steal. These posters are so incredible, just putting them on my page makes it look about a million times better.

AND MIDDLE EARTH IS BACK!
It disappeared in 11th grade, but it reappeared as a Best of E3 game this year, and looks like it'll be ready in 2004. This means 2005, but who's counting?

And I just heard the Strokes mentioned in the same sentence as Led Zeppelin. MTV has stumbled back to their lowest point. Similar to the depths when I first saw Jimmy Page on stage with Puff Daddy.

I made a new splash.

The By the way, The Simpsons - The Complete Third Season DVD comes out on August 26th. This means, I only have to wait my entire summer for this to come out. It seems as if I live my life waiting for things to happen. I waited years for each of the Lord of the Rings movies to come out, and I still have 7 months to go for the Return of the King. I waited years for the Matrix sequels to come out, and still have 6 months for Revolutions. And, I've been waiting years for the Simpsons 3rd season to come out. It's been pushed back over and over again, so lets just hope this date sticks.

Well it's been a long long time, but I have finally figured out how to post again... and I wasn't even looking for it. Nonetheless, there's so much to catch up on, because it's been almost a complete month. I've been in Vegas for a week, doing stuff. Nothing big. I gambled a bit, but didn't win much. I won $15, but put it back in the machine a few days later and will probably never see it again. It'll be hard since my unpaid internship won't give me the money to try much more. I have yet to buy a drink here since the amazingly cheap drinks in State College have spoiled me forever. It's incredibly hard to spend $5 on one drink, when I could buy almost two pitchers for that price.

X2" So what have I done since we last met. Well I saw a few movies. First I saw X2 which I wrote about while I was home, but couldn't update. Well, X2 was really awsome. Some things about X2 that were really good are: Nightcrawler and everything about him, Kelly Hu was hot, Wolverine is my 2nd favorite comic book character behind Spiderman and we saw why, and just practically everything about the movie.

The The next two movies I saw were obviously The Matrix Reloaded. I waited four long, hard years for this sequel to come out. I only saw it twice, which did not compare to the five times I saw the original, but Reloaded just wasn't as good. I'm not saying it wasn't good... it was really good, especially the 2nd time when everything made sense, but it just wasn't the first movie. The CG was a little overdone and was quite visible in some parts, and just leaving me hanging for another 6 months ruined it a lot. The only thing I really didn't like was the 5 minute "orgy" in Zion. That should have been half the time. It was only 5 minutes, but it felt like it was going on forever. Sure, Neo and Trinity love each other, but we already know that. The first movie was all about that, and then hell, they were making out in the elevators... we just didn't need the extra long scene. Anyway, once I get my hands on Revolutions, Reloaded will become much better. I can't wait for Revolutions, because I've put many man hours into trying to figure out what's going on and what will happen, and I just have to see it for myself. I've even had to attempt to explain everything about Reloaded to practically everyone. And of course most of their problems stem from a lack of knowledge about the original Matrix, so I've had many long conversations.

Bruce Almighty The last movie I saw was Bruce Almighty. I was looking forward to this movie since I first saw the trailer a couple months back, but all I can say was the movie was just all right. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't all great. There were some really funny parts, but I guess I'm just not a big fan of Jim Carrey. I never have and I guess I never will. This movie just seemed like it was all thrown together and it didn't flow. Some pieces were simply missing, and it rushed to get wherever it was that it was trying to go.

In between the movies, I managed to spend a few days in Cape May. It was a good time at the beach, despite the cold, almost rainy conditions. Just getting away is always fun. I also went to the Phillies game on May 10th, and saw Randy Wolf pitch a gem against the Astros. I even purchased my first, and last, $5 beer at the Vet. So now I'm here in Las Vegas for the next three long months, and there'll be many more stories to tell. And I'm leaving on that note.
