A Perfect Circle - Thirteenth StepYeah, so A Perfect Circle added a little bit more to their page today. A little bit more in the fact that they have their first single “Weak and Powerless” streaming off the site. That’s pretty good if I do say so myself. The song sounds really good, and the album will probably be awesome. It’d sound better if it wasn’t streaming though. I was originally waiting til the album came out on September 16th, however since the band is giving me a chance to listen to the song, I’ll take advantage of it. I’m hyped.

What I’m listening to right now: A Perfect Circle – Thirteenth Step – Weak and Powerless

I like Page2… always have, probably always will. We share the same ideas… have the same visions… laugh at the same stuff… cry at the same stuff. We have the best of times, we have the worst of times, but we always do it together. That’s why when I posted my hatred on Friday over VH-1’s 200 Greatest Pop Culture Icons, I knew that Page2 would be there to support me in the long run. And they came through with flying colors… And I mean a whole hex chart of colors. Only a few days after my complaints, Page2 has posted their own new Top 10 Icons list. They even posted an older Top 10 list almost a year ago which I think is the best of the three. And this was probably way before VH-1 started putting the no thought that they did for their list.

I’m crying. Tickets went on sale for Def Leppard and I didn’t know. I didn’t know. I just didn’t know. I missed all the good seats. Why didn’t the BJC send me a notice for this show? No… they send me notices for all the crap country shows, children specials, and ice skating pieces of garbage. I don’t care about Sesame Street, I don’t care about Kenny Chesney 3 times a year and I sure as hell don’t care about All Star Skating Spectaculars. But for the good shows, I know NOTHING!!! I should sue them. I mean that chick is suing Kobe for raping her. I might as well have been raped by the BJC. Or at least it feels that way.

What I’m listening to right now: Silence drowned out by the sound of my tears hitting the desk

“Forever” has been stuck in my head ever since since I wrote my last post. It’s driving me nuts. This just adds to the fact that it would be pretty cool to be John Stamos.

If every word I said
Could make you laugh
I’d talk forever (together my love)
I ask the sky just what we had
Mmm It shone forever (together my love my my my my my my my my my my my my my)
If the song I sing to you
Could fill your heart with joy
I’d sing forever (together my love my my my my)
Forever
Forever
I’ve been so happy loving you

What I’m listening to right now: Beach Boys & John Stamos – Forever

I am NOT John StamosSo I just got hit with the upsetting news that I am not in fact John Stamos. It’s a shame. I could have been Uncle Jesse at one point in my life. I could have played drums with the Beach Boys, ripped off their song “Forever” and made a video for it for Full House. Lastly and most importantly, I could be tapping Rebecca Romijn. Find out if you are the John Stamos at the “Are You John Stamos? quiz”. Being John Stamos does has its benefits.

I just remembered. I was looking for something on my portfolio and realized that most of the links are dead. I forgot that when I cancelled AOL, I not only lost my screen name, but I lost my web space where most of those pages were hosted. Also, I don’t have my portfolio in Vegas, so I can’t upload them onto my current server. You’ll all be portfolioless until I get home. I’m sure you’ll all survive. I’m sure you all care.

I’m currently watching: Howard Stern

I don’t know why we pay for HBO in this house. If I wanted to watch Minority Report 20 times a day, I could have just bought the DVD, had a good copy for myself, and even probably saved myself a couple of bucks.

VH-1 has done some decent “Top” lists in the past, but their new “200 Pop Icons” list is the biggest load of crap I’ve ever seen. I don’t know who came up with this list, but they’re just insane. The other day I caught part of an episode, and Jim Morrison was ranked so close to 200 it made me sick. I turned it off right away, but now that I’m looking at their 180-161 list, I see that Morrison is at 170, AND ABBA IS 168!!!What the hell is that? It is literally making me nauseous. But oh man, now I’m watching part of it again to see if it gets better, and Led Zeppelin was ranked 132, and then Calvin Klein was ranked 131. Calvin Klein? I wouldn’t know him if he walked into my front door handing out free pairs of jeans while wearing a “Calvin” name badge. Then they show the criteria they used to come up with this garbage, and I still don’t understand it. Here’s their list that I compiled:

Criteria
Led Zeppelin
Calvin Klein
1. Do they pass the one-name test? Yes No
2. Can you dress up as them for Halloween? ehh Not really No
3. Did they blaze a trail in pop culture? Yes Maybe
4. Did they create a signature character in pop culture? No No
5. Can you quote them, or their character, in 10 seconds or less? Twice on Sunday Nope
6. Did society imitate their sense of fashion? Hairstyle? No Yes
7. Did “SNL” create a sketch satirizing them? No No
8. Did someone write a song about them? They wrote their own songs thank you. No
9. Was or is there merchandising or paraphernalia that bears their image? Tons I don’t even know his face
10. Can they be connected to Kevin Bacon? No Who cares?

After looking at it, you can see that #10 is just rediculous because who really cares about Kevin Bacon; this one alone makes me think it’s a joke. But then just look at the results. Zeppelin blows Klein away, unless having society imitate your sense of fashion is worth 80 bagillion points. Did people pay VH-1 to get higher on the list, and because Zeppelin is just too cool to care, they didn’t cough up the almighty dollar? Stupid list.

I can’t believe football starts as soon as it does. Man, I’m just not ready for it. It seems like football just ended. We have too much baseball left to think about before we should start worrying about football. Time had better slow down a bit, because the way the Phillies are playing, it’ll hurt my head too much worrying about how the Eagles are going to be this year.

CNN did a special report on the Top 30 U.S. Amusement Parks based on attendance in 2002, and I thought there were some pretty interesting results. I mean you have your usuals with Disney owning the top 5 spots, but shockingly coming in at #14 is Morey’s Piers. Wow! look at Wildwood getting itself on the map. People are going to read this and be like “Morey’s what? Wildwood?”. Then, coming in at #15, is Six Flags Great Adventure which turns out to be the top rated Six Flags. It’s actually tied with Cedar Point, but being tied with what is normally voted the best amusement park is a pretty good deal… even if Cedar Point is only open 5 months out of the year. Morey’s is only open that long also, so if they brought inflation into the picture, Morey’s would probably crack the top 10 easy.
