Nothing to talk about.

I’ve got nothing to really post about. I was gonna post yesterday about how I ate a sandwich with mayo on it and it was really gross, but since it was free from the EDR, I wasn’t going to have the cook make me another sandwich, so I just ate it and every bite made me queasy… but when I went to post about it, Blogger was down. Then I was going to post tonight about why Penn State sports are so disappointing and how we only had 1 decent football year and 1 decent basketball year in the 4 years we went to Penn State, but some other schools have consistently good football or basketball or even both programs, and Penn State is too good of a school to have shitty sports programs and what the hell is going on, but I didn’t really feel like getting into it. Then I could have talked about Tim’s Red box, but that joke of a box was over a long time ago. Even he forgot about it. So instead of posting, I just looked through the archives for March and April ’04. Some really good stuff in there. Except April 1st when I was sick like hell. I couldn’t even stand up. I don’t even want to think about it.

Longest Week Ever

I guess it’s time to catch up on what happened this week. It was the longest week ever as suggested by the title. I guess I last posted on Friday morning. Harold's SandwichI never did get to Harolds. I just wasn’t feeling the hour drive each way for a sandwich. But what a sandwich it would have been. Here’s a shot of it from when I was there last summer. Then Friday night, I went to the movies with Rob. Movie review later.

Saturday was a good day even though I was crazily, that’s not a word Brett, yes it is, I just looked it up on dictionary.com, strapped for time. After breakfast I had to go set up my uncle’s wireless network. That took a bit longer than expected. After that, we drove down to Termini’s and spent a load of money on pastries. You cannot go wrong with spending a load of money at Termini’s. Only problem is, is that Termini’s is the best bakery in the world, and it took 2 hours to get the goods. Anyway, after Termini’s, I saw I still had some extra time so I got to spend a couple hours hanging out in Bensalem with Matt. Luckily he was up for the weekend. I only had about 2 hours, but his car was being worked on so I was stranded and could not leave. Oh well. I wasn’t complaining. Finally I got home about 45 minutes late, took a 60 second shower, and was out the door in 15 minutes.

We made great time to King of Prussia so we were only a half hour late. Kristin and I met Steph and Taylor at Bahama Breeze. Then, ::dum dum dum::, Tim showed up. And we all rejoice. It wasn’t a surprise like I just made it seem, but I like drama. 3 dums surrounded by colons is not drama. Yes it is, shut up. Anyway, I wasn’t too impressed with Bahama Breeze, however I wasn’t feeling too good anyway. I think after eating large meals constantly all week, my stomach just wasn’t feeling life anymore. Anyway, we hung out and pissed the waitress off for a few hours, then decided it was time to move on. But we couldn’t end the night there, so we went over to Cheesecake Factory. $55 for 5 people to have desert and iced tea… but who’s counting? I go there all the time, but it puts in in perspective when all you get is cheesecake and iced tea. Well after pissing off that waitress for a couple hours, and me failing miserably and being the only one who can’t finish a piece of cheesecake, we decided to go on our way. It was late, so rather than have Tim drive home, we just crashed at Kristin’s.

When I woke up, it was Sunday, March 27th, 2005. My 23rd birthday. What a miserable birthday that was. First, I had to compete with Easter which I feel I had a slight edge over going into the day, but I think ended up beating me out. I should have done more campaining over the last few weeks. Then, I woke up not in my bed which is never fun. It was Kristin’s bed which was slightly too small for me, so I had to sleep with my knees bent all night. But then! ::dum dum dum::, I went home and had lox, whitefish and bagels. Awesome. Man, I miss that so much. Then for desert, we had the Termini’s. Awesome. Man, I miss that so much. After breakfast, Tim bounced, and I packed. I was now about to spend the rest of my day going home. First we would stop at my Aunt’s for an Easter lunch. It’s always good to see family that you won’t see for a long time. Then we hit the airport. It was the longest flight ever. I didn’t get home until late and my whole birthday was gone. I lost 3 hours on my birthday from the time difference, and then spent 5 more of that on a plane. But all in all it was a tough but ok week. I made it through alive. For all of you I saw this week, thank you, it was fun. For those I didn’t see, I’ll be back for my scheduled vacation in less than a month, so book your time quickly… it’s going fast. Now practically 24 hours after starting this post, I can finally submit it for everyone to read. All 10 of you. Enjoy.

What I’m listening to: Silence

Weekend update.

So I’ve been in Philadelphia since Tuesday. I left right after work and was up for another 24 hours. Since I’ve been here, I haven’t had good internet access, and it wasn’t until about 30 minutes ago that I learned that if I positioned my laptop the right way, I can get a weak signal allowing me to come online. I went to John’s right away on Wednesday and it was beautiful. Yesterday was the funeral, and it was way harder than I thought it would be. I still woke up this morning numb. Hopefully going back to John’s today will help me out a bit. Then I’m going to a place tonight that serves the biggest sandwich ever made. Well I’m not positive about that, but this sandwich feeds 6. If I do in fact go, I’ll post a picture of it. It’s massive.

Tuesday will be my first non weekend day off in over 27 weeks. The good news is that I will have off a total of 10 days in April. And I think I figured out that I will be able to take a paid day off on Friday so I can get these sweet sweet hours of OT that I am justly earning right now. Yes folks, this is the fun stuff you look forward to when you’re old.

My good deed for the day.

I thought I heard the phone ring at around 11:15PM, but since I keep the ringer off in my room, I just let it go. Then I hear a knock on my door. My boss is on the line and desperately needs coverage. Great. Like a dumbass I agreed. So now I’m in work. 1AM-7AM after being up at 7AM for the draft yesterday. And what’s worse is if I take an unpaid day on Friday, this 6 hours doesn’t even count as overtime, and I’ll still lose 2 hours on my next paycheck and then even if I work 2 more hours of OT next week, I’ll just break even. What a beat situation. I’m gonna have to use a day of PTO on Friday or else I’ll lose all this good OT pay for tonight. I’m just lucky I got a 3 hour nap this afternoon. I wouldn’t have a prayer to finish this shift if I didn’t. It’s gonna be a stretch to make it anyway. This song still sucks. Why do they keep playing it.

Last night, Kristin and I went out for the first time in a long time. We went to Harrah’s buffet for dinner. I ate 50 shrimp. It was fate as that is the exact number I put on my plate after 2 trips. It was good. That’s why I went. To eat a lot of shrimp.

After dinner, we went to the Improv at Harrah’s and saw Jeremy Hotz. Oh man, I was cracking up. He reused practically all of his Comedy Central material, but went off on tangents and also did some different, I guess you can say improvisational, stuff with the crowd. I was rolling. What a miserable man Jeremy Hotz is… he has problems, I’ll tell you that. He was a lot more vulgar live though… instead of saying “miserable”, he said “shit”, which wasn’t as funny. I guess since that was the only difference, he wasn’t that vulgar either. But man, even though I heard almost all the stuff before, it was still hilarious. He cracks himself up too, which is always funny. Jeremy was headlining, but I also saw Ant, who you might know from Last Comic Standing and Celebrity Fit Club. I never liked Ant when he was on Last Comic Standing, but he was pretty funny last night. Now he was really raunchy, but what do you expect from a comic who does almost all gay material. Loni Love was the 3rd comic in the show. I didn’t know her. She said some funny stuff, but I don’t really share the same sense of humor as black women. I realize now that I gotta start seeing more comedy shows; maybe comics I haven’t already heard of. I guess Vegas is the place to do it.

And I still need sneakers.

While looking for last year’s fantasy baseball lineup, I stumbled upon a classic post. Thursday, March 25, 2004. In it, I wrote “3. I need a new pair of sneakers. I’m not sure what I want exactly at this moment, but I’m getting there.” What’s funny about this is, it’s a year later, and I have still not purchased a pair of shoes. And it’s not like I haven’t looked. I have… A lot. I always have trouble buying shoes, but the show has reached a new low. I think I finally know what I want now though. Dude, I’m seriously.

2005 Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball League

Times have changed obviously… Players have disappeared, but others have emerged. I’m talking about Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball. Another year, another season. We lost a long time regular, but gained 2 more. The draft was at 7:45AM PT, which was mighty early, but I was up for the challenge. Last year I did a lot more planning than I did this year, and during the draft today, I realized planning is helpful. I did most of my planning last night from 11PM – 1AM. A lot of the time during the draft I was thinking, “What the hell are you thinking?”, and it wasn’t directed towards other players. A lot of the time it was though. Rob is the only player who didn’t show up. A new player to the league and he didn’t show up. And then Christian… You showed up, but did you really show up? After it’s done and I’m looking at my team, I’m very happy with the way it turned out. With the Phils this year, I wasn’t really looking forward to baseball, but after today, I can’t wait.

My grandmother passed away this morning sometime before 2AM. I’m not going to really talk about it cause it’s obviously hard. I lived with her my entire life and she wasn’t just a grandmother, she was like a mother. I feel like I should write some big emotional post on here because that’s really what this place is for, but I’m not gonna. Right now I’m just not able to talk about anything.
