I saw Star Wars: Episode III last night and there was really no chance that I was going to truly love it. There was just way too much hype over this movie and I don’t think anything could have survived that much expectation. I doubt The Empire Strikes Back could have done it. That said, it could have been better. I never realized how poor of an actress Natalie Portman was. The only movies I’ve watched her in were the 3 Star Wars movies, but in this one I realized she was just bad. Forced, flat and emotionless. Hayden Christensen wasn’t too bad in this one. Maybe I’m used to it because I noticed he wasn’t too hot in Episode II. All of the other acting was pretty good though. Ewan McGregor was awesome. I gotta start seeing more of his movies. Big Fish was sweet. Now I’ll get to the movie. I did not like how Anakin’s change to Darth Vader was done. It was too retarded. Yeah, we knew he was weak, but I felt like he needed a bit more coaxing than he actually got. Oh no, she’s gonna die. I better go against everything I’ve learned in my life up to this point because of things you’ve said to me in our last 2 meetings. When he turned I said, “There’s no way he just turned there. There’s gotta be more to this.” And I don’t know what the hell the Jedi were thinking letting Anakin slip away like that. There had to be a better way. They can sense changes in the force a mile away, but they couldn’t keep an eye on him when they knew he needed it the most? “Hey, you haven’t been listening to us much lately, and you always act erratically, but wait here in this room by yourself until we get back.” I guess my problem with it all was it had to be done, and it had to be done in about 2 hours. The die was cast 28 years ago and there was nothing anyone could do about it. I’m just an advocate for longer more complete movies. The 4 hours of Return of the King was glorious. Peter Jackson hit it right on the head with that one. He knew what the fans would want and didn’t worry about people who could probably care less not going to see the movie because it was too long. That said, a chapter is over and if you look at Episodes III, II and yes, even I from an entertainment standpoint instead of cinematic masterpieces you’ll get to watch 3 pretty entertaining movies. Combined with IV, V and VI, you get an amazing story that can only be rivaled by few. It’s sad to see it end, but we’re all left with good stuff. Let’s hope Lucas decides to do VII, VIII and IV and lets hope next time I can keep my expectations where they should be. Right about what you expect from the Phillies? No, not even that low. And that was a low blow.

A few changes to the page are being made. I finally did away with the “Recently Played” section. I stopped using Winamp a while ago, and that was powered by a Winamp plugin. I might find a new plugin for iTunes, but in the meantime it’s gone. Also, you all have probably noticed there hasn’t been a “What Did Brett Wear To Work?” in long time. That’s because I unfortunately stopped doing it. It got to be a hassle, and once Kristin and I were on completely different shifts, sometimes never seeing each other, it became practically impossible to keep up with. I know you’re all deeply upset. I stopped updating it a long time before I stopped taking the pictures though, so there are a bunch of never seen before weeks!!! I’ll be taking all the pictures down though since I know no one really liked them and I know some people simply hated them. I made it practically 6 months exactly though. It’ll definitely give me something to look back at. Maybe I’ll do one every 6 months to watch my ass get older through the years. Speaking of years, I changed my retirement countdown from 70 years old to 65 years old. I realized there was no way I’m working til I’m 70. It cut my countdown from 17,000+ to only about 15,000+, which means I better start saving a lot more than I am now. It feels like it’s already catching up with me. And it seems like I’ve been either hit or miss with posts lately. I get either a crazy amount of comments or none at all. Baffling. I don’t know what you all want from me.

Yesterday I helped Rob move into his apartment which took up the whole day. That and then my dumbass working out afterwards. That’s dedication Holmes. Now my arms feel like they haven’t felt in a long time, which is a good thing. And I don’t have to work OT today. That’s even sweeter because I get an extra hour to make up for yesterday. Sometimes the money’s not worth it. Except in the case of P Diddy’s kid. Last week I said Ricky Williams has to pay something like 5k/m in child support. Well I read yesterday that Diddy has been ordered to pay over 21k a month in child support. The kid is gonna have over 261,000 a year! And Diddy already says that he spends over $120,000 a year on the kid for health insurance, tuition, vacations, clothes and other stuff. What else could the kid possibly need? That’s just simply stunning and outrageous. The mother asked for 35k a month but I guess the judge could have possibly felt that was too much? WTF is going on here. Just keep it in your pants kids.

I just spent $25 and my doctor made $150 for a whole 1 minute check up in which I don’t even think he checked up on me. He walked in the room, looked at the chart, prescribed me something that I told him to that I’m already using without his referral that I have been using for 5 years and which he never even heard of, and left. I really got charged to breathe the oxygen in the office for 30 minutes as I waited to see him. I knew I didn’t need to go, but for some reason he said to come back in 2 months. Now I don’t have to be back for a year. At least with my insurance, he might not see the money until then. They’re backlogged a few months. He still hasn’t gotten paid from March. Haha sucker.

I’m currently watching: How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days

I saw Kingdom of Heaven today. It was good. Really good. I’m glad I ended up seeing it because I wasn’t going to see it prior to yesterday. Orlando Bloom was awesome once again. He doesn’t feel like a lead actor because he doesn’t really have the look, but he pulls it off well. Some of the fight scenes were kinda blurry but most of them were good and the large epic battle at the end was just awesome. It didn’t really focus on love too much which is what way too many movies are doing nowadays. We knew there was something going on between Bloom and that chick who’s name I can’t remember, and all they did was have about a total of 10 minutes of screen time throughout the movie emphasizing their love. It was the smallest love scene ever. The director had the right idea. If she wasn’t gonna show some titties, just get it over with. And that brings me to my only quarrel with the movie which was all the names. I’m bad with names and this movie was giving me fits. People and places… everything had a weird name. Despite all the names I couldn’t remember though, all the characters were played really well. I’m really glad to see that good non comedies can still be made even after the Lord of the Rings trilogy finished up. I hope we get some more soon.
