Why on Earth would anybody want to buy Survivor DVDs? I mean I don’t like to watch it in the first place, but why would you want to rewatch the episode where “that guy” stubs his toe while chasing after a rabbit that he wants to eat for dinner? Or rewatch the one where “that girl” whines about how she wants to give up because it’s sooooo hard, as if she thought living at a remote location, with no food or amentities, was going to be simple. I hate people. Oh yeah, I thought of this while I was on the elevator this morning and there was a lady carrying the Survivor DVDs. She didn’t look like an intelligent woman to me, but I judged her solely on those DVDs. So, to recap, buy Survivor DVDs, look retarded. And you can say that I’m watching American Idol, but I’m not buying any DVDs. That’s my point.

The “First Annual Terententen Lord of the Rings All Day Marathon Blast” went off without a hitch today and I have to say it was incredibly awesome. It got up to a gorgeous 80 degrees outside on a beautiful February 25th may I add. I was up at 9:00AM and at Rob’s apartment, ready for our 10:00AM start, when we pressed ‘Enter’ and let the good times roll. I actually have a full timeline for future reference.
10:00AM-11:46AM : Fellowship Disc 1
10 minute break
11:56AM-1:31PM : Fellowship Disc 2
37 minute break : Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch
2:08PM-3:55PM : Two Towers Disc 1
10 minute break
4:05PM-5:53PM : Two Towers Disc 2
20 minute break : Took a walk
6:13PM-8:21PM : Return of the King Disc 1
46 minute break : Sonic for dinner
9:07PM-11:01PM : Return of the King Disc 2
That equates to 10 hours and 58 minutes of movie and 2 hours and 3 minutes of breaks. Looking at those numbers, I think that’s a little too much time spent on breaks. Maybe for the “Second Annual Terententen Lord of the Rings All Day Marathon Blast”, we can aim for 1 hours and 2 minutes of breaks, and end the day at an even 12 hours. That’d be sweet. Kristin and Rob might not like me too much though. However, there were no extra bathroom breaks other than those taken advantage of during the listed break intervals. With three 10 minute breaks and two 16 minute breaks, or some other varations to be decided on later… with delivery instead of pickup… we can really make it work.
But like I’ve already said, this whole thing was amazing. I never got tired as I thought I might and I never got bored. I thought this might have been hard to do, but it really felt like one movie and as each disc ended, I couldn’t believe it had been that long. Hell, when I realized the sun went down I was just shocked. Doing this really made these movies something else. They are so outstanding in production and in depth. Sure there are a lot of differences from the book, but I love the fact that Peter Jackson tries his best to keep these movies are large as he could and not cut stuff for the sake of making a normal length movie. I mean, hell, that 10 hours and 58 minutes could have easily been 6 hours to any other director. This is gonna be one awesome tradition and I can hardly wait for next year.

I’m in love with Stacy Keibler. Kristin keeps making me watch Dancing with the Stars, so it’s her own fault. Pete’s sake, all I kept wishing for tonight was a friggin wardrobe malfunction, which never happened may I add, but please just a wardrobe malfunction!!! Her first outfit was dissapointing, but her 2nd outfit was outstanding. Definitely made up for the first one. And with that, I give you all another picture of Stacy. This one from Stuff obviously. This could be the greatest picture ever. I couldn’t pick my mouth up off the ground. Sorry for the break between posts. Hope this evens things up. Enjoy.

That was the dumbest thing I ever heard. On to the main reason for this post. It’s that time of the year again… again… again? Yep, that’s right. Fantasy Baseball. Every time I say again and every time I’m right. And every time I say, “You know the password”, and every time I’m right. Fantasy Baseball 2006. The draft at the moment is scheduled for the last Saturday before the season opener, Sat, Apr 1, 10:30am PST, 1:30pm EST, which is 51 days, 13 hours, and 15 minutes from now. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early since your draft will start promptly at the assigned time. Some of us always seem to know this and others do not. Let’s all try to make it, and if we can’t do that time, we can change it. Simple enough.

So I had to work last night during the Superbowl, from 1PM to 9PM. They wanted extra coverage and I figured I felt up to it, plus I didn’t really care about the game. So I had Saturday off and went back in on Sunday. It was a cake shift. Sunday swing shift… well it turns out Sunday swing shift is slower than grave. I had to be there in case there were any major problems on what is probably the biggest night in Las Vegas. Well there were no problems so everything was just cake. I got to watch a good chunk of 2 quarters and got to walk around the casino monitoring equipment and watching the festivities. Even got to see Roger Clemens and Jim Ross. Clemens was with security and a posse, but J.R. was just walking through the casino looking like J.R. and it was just odd to see him. I stared at him and he knew I knew him but he didn’t take the blank stare off of his face. He even walked into me practically. Not a big guy. Unlike Clemens who was flippin huge. ESPN says 6′4, 235, but that just can’t be possible. He was like a mountain.
And what is really good about the whole situation is I now have the choice of either taking the 8 hours of OT or taking off this upcoming Friday and having a 3 day weekend. After much thought, I’ll be taking off Friday. And since the pay period ended last night, I get the time and a half for last night, which means I’ll get a huge check this week and be short on my next check, but still be up 4 hours overall over the span of both checks and get a 3 day weekend and all without using my PTO. And then my father comes out in 2 weeks and I’m taking PTO then, so I get 3 days off, 4 days on and then 3 more days off. It’s kinda like a mini vacation.

Stacy Keibler gives me a reason every week to watch Dancing With the Stars. I swear, she never seems to dissapoint. She could be dancing horribly, but I’d never tell. Nevertheless, she’s the best dancer because her legs go on forever and she can certainly shake what she’s got. It’s really not fair to the other competitors because they really have no shot at beating her. And that bodes well for me because I don’t want to stop watching. It’s good TV. And no one can complain, because this is all just a really good excuse for me to throw up a picture of Stacy.
Oh yeah, back to the point. Today is Groundhog Day. That’s all I got to say about that. I just wanted to show a picture of Punxsutawney Phil because he’s so awesome.
Oh, and being on the West Coast now, we have our own “Phil”. His name is Mojave Max and he’s a tortoise which instantly makes him awesome. He’s no Phil, but what can you do?
Oh, and Phil saw his shadow today. 6 more weeks of winter folks. Good thing for me, winter in Vegas means sunny and 70’s all weekend. Have fun with the rainy and 40’s. But I’m sure we’ve been over this before.
