I spent $2.91/g for gas today. It’s oustandingly terrible that that made me so happy. I actually saved like 44 cents from Sam’s Club and like 99 cents from the Vegas average. Thank you Sinclair at Durango and Arby.

It was a nice long week. I had fun and it still seemed to take forever despite flying by somehow. Let’s go:
Saturday – Arrived at like 6AM and got home by 8ish? I was able to take a nap and then went to the Zoo with Kristin, Steph and Taylor. I remember when I first went to the San Diego Zoo, I thought that it was too big and that’s what made the Philadelphia Zoo so awesome. After being to the San Diego Zoo twice, I can say it is much better. The Philadelphia Zoo will always have a place in my heart, but I think it’s more for kids, whereas the SD Zoo is more for adults… who want to walk in a marathon while enjoying animals. After that it was off to Steve’s for my first steak sandwich.
Sunday – Easter so I didn’t do much but eat lunner with Kristin’s family and then eat dinner with my family.
Monday – Matt and I drove to Baltimore and got there around 2PM with enough time to hit some dive bar and drink a couple beers before Tim got home from work. Then we hit the harbor, ate at ESPN zone while Chris Shelton hit his like 9th or 10th homerun or something absurd like that and then went to the Orioles/Angels game. It was great. $15 seats, a free $5 beef sandwich and yelling at Corey Patterson while making fun of white trash.
Tuesday – G&M; Crabcakes, old Tara Reid and then a quick ride home. Baltimore is not far at all from Philadelphia. Not after 4 years of insane drives to State College.
Wednesday – Wednesday… ahhh Wednesday… John’s Roast Pork.
Thursday – I just chilled until the ball game. The Phils got spanked 10-4 but we stayed past the 5 run 1st and the 4 run 2nd for $6.25 Flying Fish.
Friday – Went to Harolds for a monster Pastrami/Corned Beef sandwich, a potato knish, some latkes and some pickles.
Saturday – Went to King of Prussia and met Tim at Toys ‘R’ Us for Ryan Howard autographs. Sweet. Then we drove back for John’s but he was closed so we went to Tony Luke’s which is right around the block and was one of my favorites until I found John’s. We were supposed to go to the Phillies game, but it got rained out, so we chilled for a while before going to Matt’s to watch the Flyers get beat in overtime and to drink some Flying Fish all night.
Sunday – Did some more eating in the morning, lox and whitefish, and then packed and flew home. I got home by 9 and got to bed at a decent hour.
That’s it, that’s the jist of my vacation. I didn’t write a lot of the details so hopefully I won’t forget them. That would be awful.

I’m sorry if this post doesn’t sound too sympathetic towards illegal immigrants… illegal immigrants… that’s what they are right? Yep. I thought so. So when I say that I don’t want to hear them bitch about the rights that they are NOT entitled to, I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. Seriously this could be the biggest waste of time in the history of ever. “We are America”??? Nonononono, you got that all wrong. I am America. You are Mexico. Illegal at that. You didn’t follow the proper steps to legally immigrate into this country therefore you aren’t a citizen. I don’t care if you’re doing the jobs I wouldn’t get caught dead doing but just like that awesome FedEx commercial, it’s “Not my problem”. If I was to take a trip to England I couldn’t walk around saying I’m a British citizen just because I’m there. I can’t go to Disney World, start picking up their trash and say that I should be allowed to stay there forever because I’m doing a job for them. It’s like saying I can rob a bank and not be penalized. I mean that is breaking the law just like jumping the border is. So when the government wants to strengthen laws to keep illegal immigrants out, so be it, they shouldn’t be here anyway.
Just so long as we don’t keep Salma out… that I can have more of.

I just worked my first swing shift in a year and a half and my 3rd ever. I must say, swing shift should be outlawed as it is the cakest shift of all time. At least with grave shift, you’re guaranteed to do stuff and with day shift you’re guaranteed to hang yourself, but swing shift is just absurd. Maybe it’s cause it’s a weekend, in which case, weekend swing shift should be outlawed, but maybe it’s just all of it. Despite how easy it is, I don’t think I could do it all the time. I mean the shift is easy and there’s absolutely no traffic (I made it home in 35 minutes, less than 30 of that was driving) but you come home to midnightness. That’s the term for nothing. When you come home from grave, stores start opening. When you come home from day shift, things are open. When you come home from swing, you either go right to sleep and live your day before work, or never do anything at all. I don’t like those options. Oh well, time for bed. I gotta be back at 9. I can’t wait for Friday.

I saw Ice Age 2 over the weekend. It was the first movie I’ve seen in a while and is the first of a lot to come over the next 5 months. I’m 2 for 2 this year with sequels, and just like Underwold 2, this movie was entertaining but not as good as the first. The first half was a bit too childish and there were too many scenes with the squirrel. His scenes were just slapstick and they were used too often, breaking up a good story that didn’t need relief. It’s like they finished the movie, realized it was too short, so just added scenes with the squirrel going after his nut. The climax was pretty weak too, but it was just a kids movie. Ice Age 2 was still entertaining, just not on the level that Ice Age was. I could have certainly waited for the DVD on this one.

OK, we got some pretty good plans set now for when I come home. Monday morning/afternoon on the 17th we’re driving to Baltimore for the 7:05 Orioles/Angels game, imposing ourselves on Tim for the night and then driving back to Philly whenever. And then Saturday the 22nd, Phillies/Marlins at 7:05. That’s it for now. more to come later.

I can’t get this stupid draft out of my head. I hated it. I hate some mistakes I made. I hate the fact that I don’t really have any of my favorite players on my team. I hate the fact that I thought I was prepared but when Chase Utley goes 4th overall it screwed me up beyond belief. And I’m also crazy pissed that we moved the draft to get more people involved, had that confirmed by everyone, and ended up having less people than we probably would have had if I had left it. Well probably not. But I’m still dissapointed. Oh well, bring on baseball season. I’m still pumped.
Anyway, I leave you with this thought. Simmons/West chocolate chip cookies.

Today’s the day. After waiting 5 weeks, it’s finally go time. Last night I was full of excitment. This morning I couldn’t even sleep. Yesterday I did a draft for another league, just to get the feel, and that brought on way much anxiety. I mean I flew home from work and missed the first 2 rounds. I could never catch up after that. I knew I wasn’t ready. But today I feel good. I feel loose. I feel limber. It’s a beautiful 66 degrees and sunny outside and 4:30 is knocking at my door. It’s go time.
