So I’m back. Been back since Saturday. The trip was great. It’s just so disappointing that it’s all over. The wedding, the honeymoon. All done. You plan for over a year and everything’s done so fast. The last 3 weeks flew by so incredibly fast. And what’s worse is that time felt like it was moving pretty slow. Now that I’m back, the last few days have gone by at warp speed. I guess this is it. Fly through life with no way to slow it down. Unless I can figure out a way to permanently go on vacation to Hawaii. Time there just moves at a beautiful pace.
So yeah, Kauai was great. I had Internet the whole time down there so I should have done this as it was going on but I didn’t. Deal with it. Re..gard…less… We got there real early Saturday the 19th and didn’t do much. Just really checked into the Sheraton. We were exhausted from the red eye as well as going back 3 hours. So for like the first 3 nights we crashed by 9PM. Sunday we spent hours and hours traveling through Waimea Canyon which is like a mini green Grand Canyon. Monday morning was our helicopter flight around the island. I have a DVD if anyone’s interested in watching. Riiiiiight. Monday night was also the Sheraton luau. The food was outstanding. Didn’t try the poi though so don’t ask. There was too much other good stuff to eat rather than waste space on what looked terrible. Tuesday we saw more naturey stuff. Wednesday we moved to the north side of the island. It was pretty different up there. More relaxing which unfortunately seemed to make time move faster. We saw most of the north sights (there aren’t that many) and then it was pretty much time to come home. Very depressing. Then I won’t even get involved with Sunday when we tried to see Batman and failed. I’m ending this post now before I even start talking about going back to work on Monday and hating life again. Can’t wait for the weekend.

So I had training again today. It’s great. Both days I’ve gotten to go home for lunch because it’s only about 12 minutes away from home. My round trip time is considerably less than 1 way to and from PH. This is how life is supposed to be. Leave the house at 8:40AM, get to work easily by 9AM. It’s like I’m thinking Gorgonzola and it’s actually Gorgonzola time.

I’m taking a 3 day class this week and after day 1 I can confidently say that I miss the classroom environment. My father always said school was way better than work but I never believed him. Even after a year or so of work I wasn’t changing my opinion. However, after only 4 years, I think I may start believing. Maybe it’s this class and the subject matter or maybe it’s this job but I enjoy learning stuff and I enjoy learning stuff in a classroom environment; not learning stuff as things break and you need to fix it immediately. Today I worked from 5:30AM, yes AM, until 9AM, and then went to a class until 4PM, and the day flew by. Almost looking forward to tomorrow. It beats work.

I think I can honestly say no one is reading this. All of my readers are on vacation in Philadelphia. Man, that sure as hell doesn’t say much about my page.

At the airport about to fly back to Philly. When I return I won’t be so much of a changed man but I guess things sure will be different. At least from a legal standpoint. As for nerves, yeah, there are some, but that’s probably more about the actual event than what will follow. It should be some kind of week. Highs and lows but I don’t think at all relaxing. Maybe large quantities of alcohol and food will help that. Or maybe I’ll just have to wait 2 weeks.
