I saw The Chronicles of Narnia tonight even though Grandma’s Boy is out and I wanted to see that too. I realized that seeing Chronicles would be a bit more substantial than seeing Grandma’s Boy, so I was looking forward to it all day. Well actually for a few days. So I never read the book, but I think that made the movie better. I got the feeling while watching it that this movie wouldn’t quite compare to the book like the LOTR did. It’s nothing about the movie but it was just a tad more childish in its production values. I mean yeah, the Chronicles and the LOTR are both children’s stories, however Peter Jackson’s directing was a lot different than that of a Disney movie. The acting was good and the special effects were awesome, but the story, and this is still without reading the book, just seemed young. Not really LOTR epic like. And so we have different movies. Just to fill you in, I’m comparing the two books/movies because C.S. Lewis and Tolkien were very good friends and often shared ideas and helped each other out with their writing. Without one book, we may not have had the other and vice versa.

But I liked this flick though. Maybe I feel I have to since I’m such a huge LOTR fan, but I don’t think that’s it. I think it’s just because it’s a good story and it was really well done. Seriously, there’s something about really well done talking animals that I find outstanding. And I like experiencing other worlds and delving into mythology. That stuff’s very cool too.

Some beefs I had were the stupid children. I don’t like children, I find that out more and more every day. They do stupid things, and these kids were no exception. Maybe it’s just little stupid children that I don’t like. Yeah, that’s it. My kid better not be stupid. I mean that girl was so dumb. You go into an fn wardrobe and end up in a forest filled with snow? Ok, right there you turn the f around and burn that damn wardrobe down to the ground. But then she meets Mr. Tumnus, the faun, and starts flippin talking to this thing. Christ girl, run like the dickens… this man has goat legs! What else do you need to know you shouldn’t be here? A frickin sign? And the younger boy. I just wanted to kick him in the groin the first half of the movie. You may not like your brother but that’s no reason to betray him and make him your servant. I think you’re jumping the gun a bit here. Maybe I’m looking at this all wrong, but I just don’t like child actors. Yeah, that’s it. But in all seriousness, even though I was just serious, they did a good job. I liked the movie. It’s definitely gonna be a classic movie just like it’s a classic book and it was most certainly a good way to spend a couple hours.

Sirius is amazingly great.

I got Sirius for myself for Christmas and I haven’t talked yet about how frickin great it is. Sirius is frickin great. It took me a week to realize that I didn’t hear a commercial in a week but that’s probably because there’s always a song to listen to. And that’s just by channel surfing. I’m not even talking about setting up favorite artists and songs that my radio will actually let me know about if they’re on. Seems like there’s always 2 alerts that I can choose from. And Howard being back this week has been awesome. I didn’t realize how much I missed listening to it in the morning until it was back. There was a bit on the other day that never woulda been on FM radio that was friggin hilarious, and they haven’t even began cracking the ice with the stuff they weren’t allowed to do previously. I didn’t think I could justify spending $12.95/m for radio, but it has made my ride to and from work (and weekend rides) so much more enjoyable, the .34 cents an hour I approximately pay is well worth it. I literally can’t wait to get back into my car to listen to it. If I didn’t have a DVR, I probably would consider sitting in my car or getting a home hookup for the Sirius. Does it sound like I’m recommending Sirius?

Orange Bowl ChampsEveryone knows what today is. It’s the day after the Nittany Lions became the Orange Bowl Champs. Sure it wasn’t the prettiest victory, but Florida State was a good team with a tad less rust and was practically playing at home. All I saw in the stands were seas of red with bits of white. And all I heard all night were those stupid indian chants and the Seminole band. Despite that scenario, we emerged victorious and I finally have a team that I can say won the big game. It really makes you proud. Man I miss Penn State. Joe Pa is the coolest. Woo-hah!! I got you all in check.

It looks like everyone from “Ed” is moving on. Ed’s been done since early 2004 and Warren Cheswick went right into doing “Dodgeball” and now is doing other movies. Carol Vessey went on to stay hot and also do “Boston Legal”. For the last month or so, we’ve seen that Ed is gonna be in a new CBS show “Love Monkey”. And tonight I saw that Dr. Mike Burton is gonna be on Jenna Elfman’s new show “Courting Alex”. Oh, and we can’t forget Phil Stubbs’s “Stella” show which no one watched because the ads for it were terrible. I can’t wait to watch “Love Monkey” though. I’m really looking forward to it.

I don’t make resolutions.

They never work anyway. However I will start posting again in the new year. I took some time off, busy working and being sick. I currently found out that I have bronchitis. Probably what’s been killing me the last 2 weeks. It finally got to be too much Saturday morning and I had to go to the doctor. Good thing too because I don’t think the Tylenol and NyQuil were gonna take care of it. But anyway, I’m back to my Monday-Friday schedule. No more weekend graves. Having more time on my hands is gonna allow me to finally get the page in order. I’ll hopefully have it in good shape by the blog’s 3rd birthday. My baby’s becoming a man. Happy new year everybody.
