Room Acoustics

So I moved in a week ago today. I haven’t spent much time on the internet since then though. It took a few days to get everything hooked up and we still have tons of boxes to unpack, but man, I hooked up my computer speakers last night and I get some sort of amazing acoustics from this room and also in the connecting bathroom. It’s unbelievable. I think I get surround sound from 2 speakers because of it. Amazing. I can’t wait to start working on the album again. I’m glad we waited to do recording because it’s gonna sound awesome now.

K is for Keenan’s paper.

K is for Keenan’s paper and I got it. That’s why K is for Keenan’s paper.

I got keys.

Ok, I’m now a 10% homeowner. I got my keys and I’ve been in the place unescorted.

In other news, Pandas are even more feebler.

On November, 19th after a devastating loss to the Titans where we lost Donovan, I said the season was over and our Superbowl was now on Christmas day against the Cowboys. It’s 2 months later and we got that Superbowl victory and much, much more. A sweep of the Cowboys, an unheard of 3 game road win streak against divisional opponents in the midst of a 6 game win streak where we somehow won the NFC East AND a wild card playoff game. This loss sure is painful, but I really couldn’t have asked for any more than this Eagles team gave us. It was a great run, filled with a lot of hope, but we knew the real Superbowl was just a dream and it was finally time to wake up.

Read more when “Why Was I Even Born – The Life and Times of a Philadelphia Sports Fan” hits shelves sometime in the future. I don’t know when, but sometime in the future.

Looks like it’s another case of the next years. We’ll have Donovan back with a lot to prove, a more balanced offense, almost all of our core players back; it should be a season to remember. Now it’s time to wash my Dawkins jersey.

I’m an in limbo homeowner.

Yesterday, I walked through the condo, having Martín and Jason paint and fix everything that wasn’t up to par, signed the not so insane amount of papers, put down the insane amount of money, but don’t get the keys until Tuesday. Then I will be a 10% homeowner.

What a great weekend.

First Tony Romo sucks it up and the Cowgirls lose their playoff game. I’ve created the perfect collage of it all.

Then the Eagles beat the Giants and move to the next round of the playoffs while at the same time ending Tiki Barber’s career.

Finally Ohio St. loses the bowl no one though they could lose… got trounced 41-14 more like it. It’s hard finding pictures of sulking players after a loss but Troy Smith went 4-14 with a pick and Ohio St. was never in the game after the initial kickoff return. It was great. I was looking forward to it all day and Florida didn’t disappoint.

What about Ohio?

All I can help thinking while watching the Ohio St. marching band and all of these Ohio St. fans is that these people chose to go to school and live in Ohio. People are born there and yet they decided to still live there and not get out when they had a chance. Yes, they are from Ohio and it’s their own fault.

Football Commercials

You know, it’s never good when Football season is over. On February 5th I know I’ll already be highly anticipating next football season. But you know what I won’t be missing? I’m sure you do because of the title of this post. Yes, these stupid, horrible commercials. I mean the beginning of the year all we saw was that “NFL replay on NFL N” commercial. And it was also that terrible John Melloncamp commercial that was heavily played the first half of the season but has trailed off at this point. But no. As irritating as that Melloncamp commercial was, this “Iron Man” commercial is even worse. I mean it’s been around all football season and it just keeps getting stronger. It’s on practically every single commercial break and when they don’t show it during a break, they show it twice during the next break. If Matt didn’t just IM me after the last commercial break, coincidentally when I started writing this post, I wouldn’t even know it was a Nissan commercial. I just know that 10 weeks ago when that commercial would come on, I would bang, drumming, on my desk. I know 8 weeks ago when that commercial would come on I would be amazed that it was on again. And I know now when that commercial comes on I bang my head against my desk hoping it will stop and we can actually watch some football. I just hope Sneak King can infiltrate the CBS and Nissan headquarters and take out their head marketing people so that I can actually enjoy a football game for more than 5 minutes at a time next season. Please.

2006 Fantasy Season completed.

I’ve felt empty the last few days with no fantasy sports. I mean don’t get me wrong, January, February and most of March with no fantasy sports is probably going to do wonders for my health, however I keep finding myself looking at the football league as if something’s going to change. And I didn’t even have a good football year. Fantasy sports are a disease. A disease I tell you. But take your rest now because the 2007 Fantasy Season is quickly approaching, and baseball is a long one. Fantasy seasons are like basketball season. They last forever, you get a couple months off and then are back for more. Just likea a disease with no cure.

I’ve never once said I was a religious man. Sure I have my beliefs but they’ve never run too deep. Many a time I’ve pondered over if there’s a greater power, however it wasn’t until just this moment that I realized that there must be. There must be someone, something, watching over us, who loves us, to give us something like Jessica Alba playing football in a bikini. It makes me want to sing, and I quote some words from Geggy Tah:

“All I wanna do is to thank you,
even though I don’t know who you are,
You gave me Jessica Alba playing football in a bikini,
while I was sitting at my computer.”

Yeah, well the song went something like that, I’m pretty sure of it. Geggy just knew back then what I know now. Thank you, whoever you are, for giving us Jessica Alba playing football in a bikini. Yeah, it’s the same link as before but there are more pictures there and I don’t want to make you work too hard to enjoy something like this.

Oh man, right after I originally posted this, I found Jessica Alba plays football in her bikini over at Superficial. There are even more, and better, pictures over there. Just lots of thanks going around today… just lots of thanks.

What guy? I don’t know what you’re talking about. He must be a figment of your imagination. You know how I know you’re gay?
