Broken Scion tC Wind Deflector

So I have found the 1 part on a Scion tC that just cannot be fixed. Last week the wind deflector for my moonroof on my ‘05 tC busted somehow, still not quite sure… I came out to it Wednesday morning and saw it was cracked up pretty good. It doesn’t look like vandalism as it wasn’t busted up too bad yet I don’t think it happened while I was driving. I haven’t had the moonroof opened in months so the deflector hasn’t been up and I didn’t see any glass fly off the car at any point while driving.

Regardless, anyone have this part replaced yet? I know it was affected by a recall a few years back and I had that work done at that time but I need it completely replaced now. It took me 2 days to get a hold of my normally trusty Toyota service adviser and he told me to bring it in to look at however when I got there they said they don’t do glass work. They gave me the part number, 63201-21110, and the phone # to Safelite Auto Glass because they said to get the part through Toyota would cost a lot and they wouldn’t do the work anyway so hopefully I could get it cheaper with Safelite. Then I tried calling Safelite and they can’t find the part. So then I called the Toyota collision center who worked on my car a few years ago figuring they do everything as they’re a collision center but no, they don’t do glass either. They have a glass guy. So I called their glass guy. He said I’d have to call a sunroof guy. Ugh. I’ll call him tomorrow. I’m sick already.

Not sure what to do at this point. Toyota is so backed up with current recalls they seemed like they couldn’t care less about this issue and their service is almost impossible to get a hold of at this point because of it. I don’t really want to drive the car in the meantime because the glass can just shatter more at any moment and fly everywhere. It seems to be literally and figuratively a bad break at a bad time. So I have found the 1 part on a Scion tC that just cannot be fixed. Fun.

Death of old comments

Would it be the end of the world if Terententen lost all of it’s old comments? Thanks to some major upcoming Blogger changes and the way they’re deprecating FTP, Terententen has a lot of adjusting to do. Maybe some for the better, probably a lot for the worse. I won’t know everything for a couple of weeks but I’m guessing there’s a 100% chance I’m going to lose all of our old comments. I’m kind of devastated. Years ago I thought about changing blogging platforms but didn’t because I didn’t want to lose the comments. Now I’m being forced to make a change and it’s gonna cost me even more years of comments. Thank goodness I didn’t post a lot in the last few years and got even fewer comments from my loyal readers. Ha! Who’s the sucker now Blogger? Regardless, spare me the “You should have changed platforms years ago.” comments. Are we going to be alright with no old comments?
