The site may be down for a little while. Like I said a couple weeks ago, Blogger's changing the way their service works and I'm going to start messing around with it tonight. Death of old comments


Would it be the end of the world if Terententen lost all of it's old comments? Thanks to some major upcoming Blogger changes and the way they're deprecating FTP, Terententen has a lot of adjusting to do. Maybe some for the better, probably a lot for the worse. I won't know everything for a couple of weeks but I'm guessing there's a 100% chance I'm going to lose all of our old comments. I'm kind of devastated. Years ago I thought about changing blogging platforms but didn't because I didn't want to lose the comments. Now I'm being forced to make a change and it's gonna cost me even more years of comments. Thank goodness I didn't post a lot in the last few years and got even fewer comments from my loyal readers. Ha! Who's the sucker now Blogger? Regardless, spare me the "You should have changed platforms years ago." comments. Are we going to be alright with no old comments?

Just renewed Terententen.com's web hosting for 1 more year so you'll all have to just keep checking the site to find out I still haven't posted anything for a-whole-nother year. We all know our days would feel a little bit emptier without our daily Terententen.com frustration check. Have nice day.

Terententen's All Growned Up


Man, I spent some time today looking through my archives and I can definitely sense a change in my attitude towards a lot of things since then. Maybe I've matured or maybe I've just been beaten down by life over the last 5 years but I said some things back then that were just jaw dropping...ly hilarious. I would never post stuff like that now though; I'm apparently nowhere near as bold as I once was. I may also know that some things are just better left unsaid. But boy, oh, boy this page used to be awesome. I mean things were just brutal. People like brutal honestly... at least I know my readers do but... wait a minute, I feel like I'm getting off track because maybe myself and some others were cracking up pretty good this afternoon reading those posts. But at whose expense? What I'm trying to say is that this site is over 6 years old, there's a lot written in these pages and things that were said years ago may not be things that I personally agree with now no matter how humorous they still may be. So I'm just gonna remind you all that you need to take everything you see on Terententen with a grain of salt. I'm an entertainer people. That's what I do. Ta da!

Terententen.com turns 4 on December 8th and it looks like it will survive 'til 5. I just renewed the domain for another year. I guess you gotta put up with hoping I post more for at least another year. Suckers.

Sometimes you don't.


Yeah, I know I have a blog that I don't post to much. It's not that I don't care, it's just that I have nothing substantial to post about. Does anybody really want to hear all about my month and a half Facebook Trading Cards addiction that I just can't quit? That's why I want to remind you that I have my Twitter account. It's for the posts that just don't warrant posts. And there are a lot of them. It's like what Terententen was before I got too lazy to post the meaningless one liners. And some of them are diamonds in the rough, so get over there. Bookmark it. And if you visit here and don't see anything new, head on over there and start reading. Summer Mixes 2008


I forgot to post this last night but yesterday was 1 month from the start of Summer. That means we now only have 29 days to get our Summer 2008 Mixes ready. June 20th. That's when they're due. I know that's not enough time for you guys to get a mix ready, and I'm sorry for the extremely short notice, but I'm still hoping we can get some mixes in for the Summer. So get going. Just enough songs to reach about 45 minutes to an hour but anything'll due. Within reason. You have probably 2 days to pick each song. Man. That's just not enough time. Do you guys get the sarcasm? I'm laying it on pre...tty thick.

Happy Birthday Terententen.com

A long, long time ago...
I can still remember
How that music used to make me smile.
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people dance
And, maybe, they�d be happy for a while.

But 5 years later still I shiver,
with every post that I deliver,
no one's ever happy, (mostly you Matt)
and I always feel crappy,
I can remember my first post
and that quiz long gone about John Stamos,
but I always tried to make the most,
and today, my blog, turns 5.

And so.. I try... a redesign,
It's not quite finished, but it's coming just fine,
I'll post it when it's done so just give me some time,
Let's put the focus on my blog turning 5.

Man, it's been a long time. January 29th, 2003. Almost to the minute. Remember the time zone change. Anyway, the #1 song on the charts wasn't American Pie; instead it was B2K & Puff Daddy - Bump, Bump, Bump. That's never a good sign. But at least my blog outlasted B2K's career. We went through many changes. From names, to CMSs, to domains and even stupid hosts that sell your site without warning and lose all your stuff. By the way... any charitable lawyers out there reading my blog? Anyway, it's been a good run. Half a decade. And like I said, a redesign is finally on it's way. The 5 year anniversary gift is wood. I'm going along the same lines. Sticking with nature. Terententen's going green for '08. Stay tuned. It's no too far off. And thanks for sticking around.

Crappiest site news ever


Well I got a new host. Now I've got my work ahead of me to get everything back up and running. My old host just sold shop without warning me and I lost tons of stuff. All comments after September 06 are gone and quite possibly all of SportsTalk. Yeah, it sucks a lot but at least I still have all almost 5 years of posts. I've seen other bloggers lose all of that so at least there's some bright side. Stay tuned I guess; I'll see what I can do.

Summer Mixes 2007


Alright guys, just send em out tomorrow. July 28th, 2007. Summer started a week ago tomorrow, so it sounds good to me. Like usual, I'm going to send mine out using YouSendIt. I'll send mine out to Rob, Matt, Tim and Christian. If Tim and Christian don't want them, they can delete them. It's just that Tim hinted that he wanted in on the thing and Christian, once upon a time, used to be a part of this mix series. I know I'm definitely eager to hear some interesting, eclectic, mixes, so why wait any longer?

Back in Business


Holy crap! Comments are finally back. After pulling my hair out since Tuesday - giving up, moving to a new CMS, deciding that it's a bad idea and coming back, I've finally solved the broken comments issue. Apparently when my host switched servers, he used a different version of PHP which rendered my comments useless. I was finally able to find a fix for it so now I can go back to living my life. Phew.

Well almost back in business


OK, so apparently the comments don't work. Unfornuately I can't fix them from work and I won't be home tonight to work on them but it should be an easy fix that I'll take care of tomorrow. In my defense, I did create a new section in Sports Talk yesterday called Sports Talk Misc. and it's for non sports talk information. Stuff like, "Hey Brett, comments aren't working. Fix them." and other stuff like, "Hey Rob, how much do you charge an hour for GBS?". Stuff like that. Now don't go posting comments for the blog posts in the sports talk misc. section, that stuff can wait until tomorrow I hope, however if you find that comments are down and there's no way to inform me of it because you suddenly got amnesia and forgot how to send email, you now have a way to let me know.

I just renewed terententen.com for 2 more years. That'll keep me covered until practically 2009. Hard to believe I've been at terententen.com for 2 years already and the blog itself is 2 months shy of 4 years. Crazy.

Maybe I'm bored, maybe it's a good idea.


After visiting Yewknee for quite some time, I've seen many a mix tape created. I downloaded the first couple of his series, but ended up ultimately not feeling most of the tracks. Well now his Summer Mix Series is in full swing with over 50 user submitted mixes... all of which I'm almost sure I won't like. After those first few, I just don't think I feel the type of music these guys listen to. But maybe you guys can be enlightened by them. Anyway, it got me to thinking; they have their group over there and we have ours. Sure I don't expect 55 mixes, but how about we try to come up with some mixes of our own. You can go for a theme or just put together some tracks in some order that compelled you to do so. Just a way to shake things up a bit. I don't know, I'm gonna start working on mine. I'll let you know when I have something.
