A long, long time ago…
I can still remember
How that music used to make me smile.
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people dance
And, maybe, they’d be happy for a while.
But 5 years later still I shiver,
with every post that I deliver,
no one’s ever happy, (mostly you Matt)
and I always feel crappy,
I can remember my first post
and that quiz long gone about John Stamos,
but I always tried to make the most,
and today, my blog, turns 5.
And so.. I try… a redesign,
It’s not quite finished, but it’s coming just fine,
I’ll post it when it’s done so just give me some time,
Let’s put the focus on my blog turning 5.
Man, it’s been a long time. January 29th, 2003. Almost to the minute. Remember the time zone change. Anyway, the #1 song on the charts wasn’t American Pie; instead it was B2K & Puff Daddy – Bump, Bump, Bump. That’s never a good sign. But at least my blog outlasted B2K’s career. We went through many changes. From names, to CMSs, to domains and even stupid hosts that sell your site without warning and lose all your stuff. By the way… any charitable lawyers out there reading my blog? Anyway, it’s been a good run. Half a decade. And like I said, a redesign is finally on it’s way. The 5 year anniversary gift is wood. I’m going along the same lines. Sticking with nature. Terententen’s going green for ‘08. Stay tuned. It’s no too far off. And thanks for sticking around.

Figures, the only place on the strip that I really go to on a regular basis catches on fire and is closed indefinitely. It happened on Friday and it looked pretty bad. I was able to go check it out from the front of PH and the smoke was ridiculous. Apparently it could been seen across the entire valley. Then we watched it streaming online and just watched the place burn. Crazy. Maybe it was karma for MGM ruining the Pub & Brewery. Bring back High Roller Red there Monte Carlo. Do it… Do it. But hopefully it’ll open back up fairly quickly because as we all know, I still love the Monte Carlo breakfast buffet.

On the same note, I saw Cloverfield last Friday and was too lazy to mention it. It was the first time I’ve went to an opening night movie in years but I think we had to go opening night to keep Matt from killing himself. And the movie was everything it was supposed to be. I didn’t realize it’d be so crazy with the handheld camera, you knew from the trailer that they’d be in there, but I also thought they’d have regular camera shots in there. If you didn’t do research, you’d be really shocked; maybe even sick. Ask the people that were ralphing all over the place. They had to close a bathroom due to puke and then someone just flat out let it go in the entrance to the theater. Nasty. But other than the cameras, the monster was alright. The little things were creepy. There were tons of questions that you’d want answered but it was done very well and if those I Am Legend zombies are running around, there’s no one I’d rather have on my side than Cloverfield because that MF’er is crazy indestructible. I wasn’t insanely gung ho for the last 6 months about seeing this movie but if they make the 2nd movie like rumors are hinting at, I’ll be there.

So it’s been over a month now so I think I can finally revisit I Am Legend. I saw it back on December 22nd and it freaked me out and I just don’t want to talk about it, ok? Nah, it did freak me out but it was more that I’m really lazy and didn’t want to write about it and find the poster and resize it and FTP it. Anyway, the movie was good; it really drew me in and obviously those things were freaky as hell. Good concept, I even feel it’s highly probable. Just keep ingesting all those gallons of artificial sweeteners people. You’ll see. Still, Will Smith is awesome but in the end the suspense kills me. I can’t stand suspense and movies with suspense in them. It woulda been much cooler without the zombie vampire creatures. It shoulda just been Will Smith, the dog and Fred. And Jessica Alba, Jessica Beil or Elisha Cuthbert. Elisah Cuthbert? When was she last in a movie anyone over the age of 18 saw? The suspense is killing me.

I never posted this awesome question from Bill Simmons’ January 18th, article, sent in from Pete in Toronto:
Q: I’m 6-foot-5, 250 pounds, and not even close to being gay, so you know the Pats are good when people don’t even look at me funny when I mention my man-crush on Tom Brady. Mostly, they nod in agreement. I think at least 60 percent of North American males must have a man-crush on Tom Brady at this point, whether they admit it or not. Think about it. You’re out at a bar one night with more than a few cocktails in you, and there’s Tom Brady, you get to talking, go out on the dance floor, and eventually you’re back at the booth and he leans in and tilts his head just a little. Who’s turning that down?

Yeah, so on Saturday I went out shopping for some new shirts for work because I need them. Earlier that day I got fitted for my tux so for the first time in my life I didn’t have to just buy a Large. Anyway, after about about 3 hours, I hadn’t found 1 shirt. Frustrating as hell. So I get to dinner and get laughs because I can’t buy a shirt. I didn’t realize why I couldn’t find any shirts until the next day. I went back out shopping and got fitted again. 16/37. The guy is about 70, has seen it all, and pretty much laughs at me and wishes me luck finding a shirt for my awesomeness. I’m neither big, nor tall. Just massive. I have the bone structure of a silver back. Yeah, that’s right, I’m pretty huge. All these years getting laughed at because my shoulders go on forever, and yep, they certainly do. Take that Taylor.

We were just talking about something like Guitar Wizard yesterday. It’s Guitar Hero but with a real guitar. Sounds like it could be fun. However it would probably just reassure me that I’m a crappy guitarist and that would just spoil all the fun.
