Alright guys, just send em out tomorrow. July 28th, 2007. Summer started a week ago tomorrow, so it sounds good to me. Like usual, I’m going to send mine out using YouSendIt. I’ll send mine out to Rob, Matt, Tim and Christian. If Tim and Christian don’t want them, they can delete them. It’s just that Tim hinted that he wanted in on the thing and Christian, once upon a time, used to be a part of this mix series. I know I’m definitely eager to hear some interesting, eclectic, mixes, so why wait any longer?

Even though we’re not halfway done baseball yet, football’s right around the corner. I’m just letting everyone know that I got the Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football ‘07 league all set up for this year. The league name is Terententen Sports Talk (ID #9468) and the draft is scheduled for Sat Sep 1 10:00am PDT, which is 67 days, 15 hours and 51 minutes from now. It’s the last Saturday before the season starts and it’s about the normal time we’ve been doing for the drafts. If there are major scheduling problems, let me know and we’ll see what we can work out. I hope everyone can make it back to the league and make the draft as well. Oh, and don’t forget about the actual Terententen Sports Talk. There’s always sports talk happening but once the football season gets in full swing, the boards really get going. Once again, any problems, let me know. Thanks.

Just a heads up. The Phils are losing right now 6-2 to the Cards. If they lose today, it will be their 9991st loss I believe. Matt, Rob and myself are going to San Deigo to see the Phils play 2 games in July, about 22 games away from now. At the rate they’ve been losing, a little less than every other game, there’s a pretty good chance that loss is gonna happen when we’re there; Because everyone knows the Phillies lose when Matt and I go to see them. Just for the hell of it, maybe Ryan Madson can get the start that day. Just a thought.

So is anyone besides Rob and myself doing Summer Mixes this year? It’s pretty dissapointing if not. There’s still over a week left to throw one together. I mean everyone listens to music. What are you listening to? Throw one track on a day for the next 9 days and, hell, you got something. Throw a little more than 1 track on a day and you got plenty. See how easy it can be?

I stumbled upon an interesting read entitled Phillyspeak that really breaks down what it takes to speak like someone from Philadelphia. I’ve read a lot of chain letters and things of this nature before but I don’t recall reading anything that discusses our language quite this well. It’s actually a pretty educational article that had me laughing quite a bit but. They should be teaching this stuff in schools; Not that Shakespeare crap. I barely read any Shakespeare in school and did done OK.

Yesterday I went to see Rise of the Silver Surfer which was one of the two movies I was really waiting for this year. Growing up, it was Spiderman and then Fantastic Four as my two favorite comics. For some reason I was wasn’t really as excited to see Spiderman as I was to see F4, probably because as I said in the last post, 3 movies might just be too much in most cases.
Anyway, this Fantastic Four was as expected. It had tons of cheesy moments, I feel it lost track a little too much with the wedding and celebrity stuff however it was carried by the fact that the Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer are just too awesome. I only wish they involved Galactus a bit more; it couldn’t have been that hard to actually show him and then make the end “fight” a little more involved with all the special effects resources we have today.
Other than that, it was a fun hour and a half. It makes me think though that perhaps the superhero movies have run their course and maybe cartoons (I want this) really are just the best way to put comics on display. I mean I have no beef with looking at Jessica Alba for 2 hours, actually I’m all for it, actually, it’s a great idea. Lets have some more Fantastic Four movies. I want a 2.5 hour Inhumans and Skrull movie. The script’s pretty much freakin written already. So let’s do it. Do it!

Last Saturday I saw Pirates. It was the same pirates as the last two, which made it good, but it just made it pretty much the same movie I saw 2 times before. I enjoyed it and it certainly kept me entertained but I find myself thinking about the whole Pirate trilogy rewatchability factor. I mean The Curse of the Black Pearl came out 4 years ago and I think I’ve only seen it 1 time outside of the theater. I never rewatched Dead Man’s Chest. I think that’s a problem with making too many sequels. I mean with the Lord of the Rings I set aside an entire day each year to watch them all because they’re glorious. However I would never set a day aside to watch all 3 Pirates films and it’s kind of like you can’t watch just one. I don’t know if I could even set aside a weekend for all 3 Pirates films. That’s the same thing that happened to the Matrix. And I rewatched the Matrix tons of times; However since the sequels came out, that went out the window. Maybe it’s time we stop it with the sequels and just come up with something new. I mean that’s what made the Matrix and the original Pirates so spectacular; they were fun and original.
Anyway, At World’s End was a decent way to not really end the sequels. Why couldn’t they just wrap up the whole thing. I mean after the credits, I guess they wrapped up Will and Elizabeth’s story however they left it completely open for Jack. I guess they’re just saying that Jack’s always gonna be doing his thing but I didn’t like that at all. The rest of the movie though I was fine with. Pretty much all I can say about this movie is that it was nothing new but still alright.

I don’t even know what the hell to say. After the confusion faded I couldn’t stop laughing. I guess it’s a good commercial?

And because I was already planning this post before the Bourne revelation excitement to remove the post about the 10,000 lo… I won’t even remention it. Here’s something happy. Click on it. It gets bigger.
