So this has to be one of the coolest stories I’ve heard in a while. A sick turtle swims directly to the steps of the only licensed veterinary facility in the world that solely treats sea turtles. Well I’m embarrassed… I can’t get anywhere without Google Maps. Wonder if his insurance will cover his stay. Cool turtle video after the jump… Sick Sea Turtle Swims Right to Hospital Doorstep. I love turtles by the way.

On Friday and Saturday, I replaced my old WD 120GB SATA drives with brand new WD 1TB SATA II drives. Let me tell you, it wasn’t the most fun I’ve ever had; moving loads of data around and around so that I could get all the data from the old to the new. I moved all the data off the old drives on Friday and then yesterday morning I ran into a major snag with my Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe not being compatible with the new SATA II drives. BAM! I never even saw it coming. Fortunately I was able to find a fix on the Asus message boards, New SATA Bios from Silicon Image…. Yep, I needed to update the MoBo to the newest Bios to get it to work but that link had excellent step by step details on the process. Of course I didn’t have a floppy drive but after swapping floppies with an old computer, the Bios was flashed, the the HDs were recognized and I was up and running in no time… moving all the data back to the new drives. Yes, it’s Sunday afternoon and I’m still moving files. What a fun weekend.

Last night we saw Daniel Tosh at the House of Blues. He was funny as usual but last night’s show just wasn’t as good as last May’s HoB’s show. Almost all the material was new, he only reused a few things, but he wasn’t the problem. Daniel was trying out new material but the crowd sucked the whole night. Matt Fulchiron’s opening act was pretty funny as well but he had the same problem and it only got worse as the night went on. A few of the same morons yelled and hollered the whole show. I don’t understand why people have to be such assholes all the time. I’m not exactly sure why the show was like that but I’m leaning towards the fact that the show started too late after the doors opened which gave everyone too much time to get drunk. Selling a few extra $8 beers is exactly what the HoB was hoping for but they ruined the show for a lot of people just to make their extra money. And it was mostly dumb broads causing the problem. Daniel Tosh’s joke about guys being gay just so they don’t have to deal with annoying women all the time surely rang true last night. Too bad I love hot chicks. Daniel hinted that he wouldn’t come back after last night’s bullcrap and I don’t blame him. Last year’s show had a fight in the balcony and this year’s show had a bunch of fools all over. The House of Blues should be ashamed. I hate people. A lot.

Some scientists say that today’s humans 40 years old or younger can expect to live for centuries. Yay! I can’t wait to have to work until I’m 200 years old. Now I just need some scientist to tell me how to win $100,000,000 so I’ll never have to work again.

Today is my birthday, the 27th one to be exact. My golden birthday some would say. Because it landed on a Friday I decided to take the day off and try to enjoy a 3 day weekend. I spent most of the day mindlessly watching TV, playing some guitar and mostly working on replacing my 2 150GB hard drives with 2 brand new 1TB WD Caviar Green hard drives. It has taken practically the whole day to shift all the data around.
Tonight we’re going out to see Daniel Tosh. It’s only been a year since we saw him last but hopefully he’ll have some new material in his act. The stuff is so hilarious though that it should be just as funny the second time, plus I don’t remember much regardless. It should be a good time. He’s a funny man.
The Where the Wild Things Are trailer is out. I don’t really remember anything about the book other than I enjoyed it as a kid but the movie looks amazing. Looking forward to it.

Remember the movie Real Genius? Well you should because it’s a great movie. One of my favorites. And it’s also another movie that can teach us all a lesson but because like 20 people haven’t seen it, they go on ignoring the fact that we should all just be relaxing and having a good time and NOT building weapon laser systems that can be taken over by a group of kids and aimed at your house which is full of popcorn and destroy it. It’s been almost 25 years since the movie came out and people still aren’t heeding its warning. Kind of like why it has been over 25 years since the Terminator came out and all these crazy Japanese people are hell bent on creating “supermodel” robots just so they can have some “companionship” but will end up killing us all. I’ve seen T1, T2, T3, Sarah Connor and they’re even making Salvation just to pound it into our heads one last time. Stop being stupid people. Stop making lasers, go get a real woman and try to enjoy life.
And from now on, stop playing with yourself.

So I’ve obviously been inundated with college basketball the last few days. The NCAA tournament is great all by itself but I actually went against all reasoning and decided to make it more interesting and place a few bets this year. Thursday morning started off great. First card we took LSU, Texas A&M; and Purdue and hit right away. And then as quick as it started it all went south. That night we missed Gonzaga by 2 points. 2 friggin points. Then Friday went the same way. First card of the morning we missed Tennessee by 2 points. Then the late card missed Ohio State in 2 OTs and Florida State in OT each by 2 points. Those last ones stung. I just can’t do the gambling thing. It’s not that losing is so shitty, it’s just how we always seem to lose. Always a buzzer beater or a close game… one overtime, two overtimes, rarely a blow out. A blow out I could handle. Oops, I was wrong. However, these constant close games just make it seem like bad karma or something; Like somebody wants me to just enjoy watching sports. So that’s what I’m gonna do. Bring on the Sweet 16 next weekend. I’m just gonna watch it and love every minute of it with all the excitement that these games bring on their own. The dogs are gone, the good teams are left and I can’t wait.

Say what now? You’re kidding me, right? Sigh… What a thing to read about a week and a half before my 27th birthday. A new study shows that ‘Brain decline’ begins at age 27. I really don’t know why I’m so upset though. I thought that my brain has been deteriorating since I was 22. That’s when they say you’re at your peak and they’re probably right. I was a damn genius at 22. So then they go on to say that memory should be good until you’re 37 but again, my memory has been total crap for years now. Some trend. Heaven help me if my memory starts getting any worse. Get to work brain people. You keep working on those stem cells. After you get me another Shakey’s Pizza, I want that new and improved body you’ve been promising me.

Like I’ve already said, it’s mid March and you know what that means… yep, it’s NCAA tourney time. March Madness, the most action packed few weeks of the year, is upon us. It’s impossible not to get excited about college basketball this time of the year from the favorites to the dogs to that certain 5-12 matchup. We had some great conference tournaments to get us going and it should be a great NCAA tournament so get over to ESPN’s Tournament Challenge and create a few brackets. If you know the password, join up with the “ABA Flint Tropics” group. It’s where all of my brackets will be. Some of them have Louisville winning, some have North Carolina winning, some have some others winning, but either of the first two would be fine by me. And don’t forget about America’s Hottest College Girl ‘09. The action starts tomorrow, March 17th. Sounds like you’ve got a lot to do. Get to it.

Here’s Jimmy Rollins having a little fun being a world effing champion. He’s trying his best not to crack up while making those faces which consistently cracks me up. And then when he pats the kid on the ass after he gets destroyed by the baseball, it’s just hilarious.
